-He made you promise him didn't he?-

That one sentence echoed in his mind, she had just left, moments ago. Yet here he was staring out his window as the rain pelted down on the outside. Fighting a difficult battle inside the same head that was rebounding that haunting promise that he absolutely did not want to keep. But of course that nagging promise, that was currently tearing apart his thought process, was made to a dead man whose blood was on his hands.

"Ugh-" he dipped his head into his palms and sighed. Sitting on his bed staring out the window as the rain came down wasn't helping his predicament anymore than staying up late into the night was helping him for school tomorrow. With another exasperated sigh he fell back onto his bed with a slight bounce. Tucking his arms behind his head he looked around his surroundings, his research and conspiracy theories were posted around the walls like a paper cocoon in seeming randomness. Of course as he looked he could see his exact thought processes. Now that it was over though, it all seemed like blur information sifting, which was now not too relevant. –I'll have to take those down tomorrow-

The blaring alarm went off, doing its unfortunate job of waking up people, with some nasty results. Especially if the person its job it is to wake up has unnatural strength. Luckily for the poor clock this morning it was not subjected to the crushing abuse of its predecessor.

A hand creeped out from under the navy comforter, and with carefulness of a neurosurgeon the lone index finger tapped the top of the clock, which quickly shut up. A groan sounded from the covers as the arm slumped back down against with a thud. Sighing, Peter kicked the covers off and unwillingly extracted himself from the comfort of his bed. He quickly went through his morning routine then headed down the stairs down to the kitchen.

Aunt May was of course already there, leaning against the island staring at the small TV placed on the table next to the door. She had a cup clasped in her hands with a light steam coming off the top, most likely her morning tea. Her head tilted to the side as she heard him walk through the dinning room. A small smile graced her face but she said nothing and turned her attention back to the TV which had the local new tuned in. Peter walked up next to her and quickly kissed her cheek then turned in search of something quick and easy to take with him for breakfast. Finally just deciding on grabbing an orange out of the bowl on the counter he settled into chair at the small table.

"You know they're making an announcement to the public that the police are searching to establish contact with Spider-man." The teen quickly looked up to his Aunt, who had her cup now trying to hide a smirk on her face, but was unable to hide the quirked eyebrow. He then tried to swipe the surprise off his face and replace it with indifference. He then replied "Oh really? Did they say why? They didn't seem like they were up to talking in their last encounter." A stiff laugh left his lips as he thought about that night and how Dr. Connors had been labeled The Lizard.

"Well apparently they were wanting to know more details about Capt. Stacy and what happened at OsCorp." Her voice was almost worrisome to him, she sounded so sure. –She must know you idiot, of course she does, she's not blind for God sakes. –

He shook his head a bit as if to clear away the thought, "I should probably head to school, I'll see you later alright Aunt May?" He grabbed his back and board by the door as her reply came from behind him "Just don't be to late tonight Peter". He turned around and gave her his huge smile and exited out the door.

As he skated up to the front of the school he spotted several flashes of red from different student milling around the wide stairs. Apparently there was a new trend running through the student population of Midtown. He saw a number of different t-shirts with his emblem plastered on in the same spot as his suit. He let out a laugh; of course the newfound fans from the school were from the incident where he mystically appeared at the school to save the day. And of course it helped that the schools basketball star Flash was also a fan of "Spidey".

With one ear bud still in place he walked down the halls with board now securely strapped to his bag, he didn't want to lose another one in a matter of weeks. He made his way to his locker, which was luckily PDA free this time, and grabbed his English book for his first class.

"Hey Parker!" He almost flinched as he heard his name shouted from down the hall. Almost. He cocked his head and looked to see Flash give him a quick wave. If anything that was the most unexpected development strangely enough from recent events. His former antagonist had turned friendly, but he would worry about that later. He gave him a short wave back and turned to go to his next class. Which he was late for. -Crap- It was a wonder he didn't notice there were barely any people left in the hallway. And maybe it wasn't since the person who had taken control of most his thoughts as of late was going to be a mere foot from him soon.

"Mr. Parker, late again I see," His English teacher crossed her arms and let out a huff as he quickly went to his seat. "Sorry, it won't happen again I promise." He quickly said as he sat down behind the blonde who refused to look at him for even a second. His teacher rapidly retorted back "Don't make promises you can't keep Mr. Parker." She turned back around to the board and went to continue her lecture. He smiled and leaned forward towards Gwen and whispered, "But those are the best kind."

Okay so this going to be multiple chapters, although I have no idea how many. I do have several plot ideas rollin' around. Oh, and if anyone wants to co-author or beta or just have an idea PM me. Im open to plot bunnies. Plus I'm not one to completely plan out a story before I write it, I kind of let it unfold as I write it. It will be Gwen and Peter, But with a plot. Hopefully. Anyway, not a lot of people read these bits at the end so I'm gonna shut up an start the next chap.
