A/N:

Another oneshot by my cutie of a brother!

Please love him.

Disclaimer: We own nothing.

The pairing of the story is Uo x Kureno, because that's the first couple that Kakuri saw in the manga. So he loves them muchly.

Waiting for Him.

She could still remember the first time he came into the store. He'd dropped everything he owned onto the floor. She had rushed to his side to help him.

Kureno...

She could still remember the first time he came and took her on a date. It was going well, until she had gotten mad. She hadn't meant to. It just popped out.

Kureno...

She could still remember the first time he came into her mind, and made her feel some what... lonely. She wanted him to come back to her. Although she filled her friends minds with hatred against this man called Kureno, Uo was very deeply in love with him.

What would she have to do to have hime come back to the store and buy a carton of milk? Write his name across the sky? Send him thousands of roses? It had been so long since she'd seen his face. She began to think she'd forget what he looked like.

How could I forget a face like that?

She ran her hand across the scanner and listened to the solemn, monotone beeping. He thoughts strayed back to all the good times she'd spent with him.

I wish you'd smile more, for me.

Uo could only remember him smiling twice. She couldn't erase the smile from embedding in her mind. She leaned against the counter and stared sadly at the exactly spot she'd first met him. She could see, in her minds eye, herself standing there, talking to him. She could see the smile on her face. On his face. He was so mysterious.

Why won't he ever come back?

She could remember that Kureno often used a place called 'Main House' as an excuse to leave suddenly. Uo didn't know what the 'Main House' was, but one day, she wanted to go there and find him. maybe that's where he worked. He seemed old enough to have a decent job.

Uo's fingers brushed against something warm as she stood upright to serve the customer whom had just come to the counter. She figured she'd touched their hand by mistake.

"I'm sorry," She mumbled. "Paper or plastic?"

"You,"

Uo's head tilted up slightly as she looked the foreigner in the eye. It was then she realised, he wasn't a foreigner at all.

"Kureno!" She wailed, leaping at him. Her knees banged against the counter as she fell limp into his arms. Kureno was shocked, yet happy. He knew she'd be here today. It had been a few months since they'd first met.

"Arisa..." He mumbled into her hair. "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine! I'm fine now, because you're here! You came back for me!" She cried into his chest. Tears formed slowly in her eyes. The joy was seeping through her skin.

"Kureno," She paused and looked him in the eye. "Why did you wait so long to come back? I missed you lots."

Kureno sighed softly and petted her head. "I've had lots of work to do at Main House."

Uo rolled her eyes. "One day," She smiled. "One day, you'll have to take me to Main House. I want to see where you work, seeing as you know where I do."

Kureno's face graced into a smile. "Of course."

He's smiling. He's smiling for me.

"I wish you'd smile more often," Uo sighed. "It gives me something to remember you by when you're gone,"
