Disclaimer: I do not own Young Justice or any of the characters mentioned in the story except for my OC Camille Wilson. (Even though I wish nothing more than to have the rights to the show, sadly however I do not.)

*Important Information*: In 2007 Black Canary (Dinah Lance) is supposed to be 21, however for the sake of my story in 2007 she is going to be 24, so by the time 2010 comes around she is going to be 27.

Star City

Black Canary tried to turn me away from the fire, but I couldn't move. It was like my feet were glued to the spot. It sounded like I had cotton in my ears. Everything seemed muffled and far away. I knew being this close to the fire I should be sweating, but it only made me feel colder.

Black Canary finally got me to face her, so that my back was to the building that took everything from me. She was kneeling down so that she was almost eye level to me, and she was holding my face so that I would look her in the eye. I saw her mouth moving, but I couldn't seem to hear any words come out.

I blinked at her trying to focus on what she was trying to tell me. After blinking a few more times I was finally able to focus on her, and I was able to hear what she was saying to me.

"...so sorry sweetie, I'm so sorry." Black Canary was telling me over and over again. I looked behind her to see a man dressed in different shades of green with what looked like a bow and quiver. I think I remember her calling him Arrow.

His gaze moved from the fire, it was then that he noticed I was looking at him. He knelt in front of me so that he was next to Black Canary and took one of my hands into his. It was then that I realized that my hands were shaking. They were scraped up a bit and covered in soot. All I could seem to do was stare at how my hand was so small compared to his.

I looked at Black Canary and Arrow, wait if she called him Arrow and he's wearing green, does that have something to do with his name or does he just like the color green?

I let out a shuddering breath, and said to the pair. "Black Canary, Arrow," they looked at me waiting for me to finish, but all that came out was a choked gasp.

Black Canary pulled me to her into a crushing hug, then just like that the floodgates opened and all I could do was let out strangled noises as I tried to breath.

I felt a third hand on my head, and knew it belonged to Arrow. Which just caused another wave of tears to hit me, this one so strong that I had to grab onto the front of Black Canary's jacket, to try to keep myself together.
