"Why you?"
"What's it mean, 'why me'?"
"It means what it means. Why you?"
"Why not?"
Starsky had a point. Irrational, but when it came down to it, Hutch had no doubt whom he'd rather have on the frontline.
"Starsk, this is not a game. If anyone gets a whiff of it-"
"Exactly."
Hutch frowned, raised a finger. "I could object to that, you know."
Starsky squeezed his shoulder, blue eyes fast on him. He could be just as stubborn, when he wanted.
"All right," Hutch said, heart heavy with worry. "Don't hit too softly."
"I'll make it believable."
