Author's Note: The characters/some of the plot does not belong to me. They belong to the CW, and I make no money off of this. I just thought this would be a fun little story, and this takes a backseat for school and other things. Sorry if you don't like OC stories, then you might want to not read because this story mainly centers around the boys and an OC. Have fun reading.
The storm pelted against the cozy suburban home while the inhabitants focused on their daily tasks. Each trying to forget the possibility of yet another flood this year. The mother was working on her lesson plans for the next day, the father was finishing a report that should have been finished yesterday, and the brother was filling out the rest of his college applications, while the younger girl was reading a new adventure novel in her room.
Sam, the family's cocker spaniel, started to bark at the front door. "Megan! Get down here and walk the dog! He wants to go out," the mother yelled up to her daughter.
"Down in a minute!" Megan replied finishing up the last two sentences of the new book her friend had suggested. Wow this is possibly the worst book I've ever read. I should start Paradise Lost soon, she thought to herself, sneering down at the cover. Throwing down the novel, she rushed out of the room, leash in hand, hoping that Sam actually wanted to go to the bathroom, not to just chase that stupid neighborhood cat. Passing the hall mirror, Megan made sure her bright blue raincoat and dark brown hair were in order, and grabbed her overly large umbrella.
Megan arrived at the foyer to see Sam jumping up and down, and whining excitedly. "Come on buddy, let's go outside. You better use the bathroom quickly. Or else." As she opened the door, a quiet buzzing sound began. Sam quieted down immediately, tail between his legs, pulling at the leash.
"Stop it Sammy!" Megan said harshly, "Sheesh, calm do." As Megan closed the front door behind her, the sharp humming grew in strength. It became so intense that she had to drop everything so she could cover her ears, causing the cocker spaniel to bolt down the street.
The buzzing continued to increase in intensity, and Megan thought she saw a bright light in front of her, but couldn't be sure because she was slowly losing consciousness. Her last thought was how she is going to get into so much trouble with her dad for losing Sam.
In an old, moldy motel room the only sound was of a crinkling voice. "Um… Dispatch? I… I got a possible 187 out here at the old paper mill on route 6?"
"Roger that. What are you looking at there, son?"
"Honestly, Walt, I… I wouldn't even know how to describe what I'm seeing. Just- send everybody."
"All right, stay calm, stay by your car. Help's on the way."
