Tsuki Youki whose name literally translated to moon demon had just gotten off of a late shift from work, letting out a long sigh, she headed out the back door. Walking down the now almost empty streets of New York, she couldn't help but nervously check her watch. It read 11:15; she would have fifteen more minutes before she would be in the safety of her warm apartment. She wrapped her jacket tighter around her body, the coolness nipping at her, the alley's she walked by didn't help either. They had always creeped her out more than they should have, she watched way to many horror movies.

This is when the bums and pimps are usually out; the one's who take girls like her. She tried to keep her mind on other things, but couldn't help but glance over her shoulder from time to time. Little did she know the last time she'd look behind her, she'd be grabbed from the side. She tried to scream but a giant hand had covered her mouth.

The next thing she knew, she was watching the mugger get beat up by this teleporting guy. 'Wait a minute,' she thought 'a teleporting guy, seriously'. It dawned on her that a mutant was saving her life, she had never hated mutants but respected them. She herself was different in her own right. The mutant stopped long enough to grab her hand and teleport her to the top of an apartment building.

He turned away from her which caused her to notice a tail sticking out from his trench-coat. Even though it was dark she could see that his skin was a deep blue. Tsuki walked over to him to get a closer look at her saviors' face. She smiled at him, this caused him to look away as if he was ashamed.

"Thank you for saving my life back there."

"It was nothing," he said, she heard a thick German accent as he spoke.

"My name's Tsuki Youkai," she said extending her hand, hoping he'd take it. He put his out and she noticed that he only had three fingers but shook it anyways.

"Nightcrawler, but you can call me Kurt. Your name is unique; it's Japanese right?"

"Yeah it means moon demon, but I'm far from a demon." This caused him to smile; he then frowned and looked down. "Is something bothering you Kurt?" She asked, she hoped deep down inside, it was nothing she said.

"I find it strange that a human doesn't seem afraid around me, doesn't care that I look like this." He said before standing back so she could get a better look. After looking him over Tsuki noticed how cute he looked.

"I know I'm being bland when I say this but I think you're rather cute."

If Nightcrawler could blush he'd be doing it right now. "You're the first girl to say that, and if I might say so you are very beautiful."

She smiled, "Kurt if you want to, I'm free this weekend, you can come over to my apartment if you'd like," she asked shyly.

"I would love too," Kurt replied, a bit of excitement in his voice. "And if you like I could bring you to Xavier's mansion he would love to meet a human like you."

"I've heard of him, I would love to meet him and see where he stands on mutant rights." She replied.

They both smiled and then Tsuki wrote down her address on a spare piece of paper that was in her purse. Kurt teleported her there, said his goodbye, than was off to the school. That night Tsuki went to bed with the biggest smile on her face, she was the happiest girl in New York. When Kurt teleported back to the mansion he also had a smile on his face, Gambit came up and had a smirk plastered on his face, his red eyes gleaming.

"So does our Kurt have a girlfriend?" Remy said in his thick Cajun accent.

"Well mien friend if I play my cards right," he said playing off of Gambit's use of cards.

Kurt then went up to his room, changed for bed and fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow. Dreams of his moon demon playing in his mind.
