A/N: I've tried watching "The Walking Dead" and I can say, without a doubt, it is not my thing. When it comes to zombies, this movie is much more my pace. I was literally Zed: hiding under the blankets, barely able to look at the screen even as I was trying to get through an episode. I never did finish a single episode of it. Can you relate?
One Saturday, Addison decided to drop by Zed's house for a surprise visit.
When she got there, his little sister let her in with a toothy grin and pointed her in the direction of his room.
She poked her head through the partially closed door and heard a startled gasp. She flipped on the light switch, brightening the gloomy room up immediately. She looked around.
Zed was lying on his bed, covered by a sheet. The TV in the corner of the room was on and a show was playing.
"Oh, it's you!" he exclaimed, relieved, as he sat up. The sheet covering his head fell off as he did so.
"Yeah, it's me," she replied, sitting on his bed next to him. "What's going on?"
"Oh, nothing. I was just watching a show and…"
She looked back to the TV and was startled as she realised he was watching an apocalyptic show with zombies in it.
"I thought zombies wouldn't watch this kind of junk," she said, frowning at the violent scene playing.
"We don't, usually," he said. "But they're pretty much the most terrifying thing we can watch, so it is our own horror category."
Addison hummed under her breath.
Zed turned off the TV. "To be honest, though," he continued. "I'd just really like there to be something- a book, TV show, movie, whatever- where the zombie is the protagonist. I'm tired of the same old-same old things where zombies are taking over the world and must all be shot in the head. It's sickening, really."
"And plain ignorant," she added.
He nodded vigorously. "Besides, we are so much better looking than those fake undead."
Addison snorted at his egotistical remark, but agreed nonetheless. "Yes, you are."
