Mythology with the Marauders

James, Remus, Sirius, and Peter were sitting in class one day. There was a new teacher and a new subject: Mythology. The teacher was a pretty young witch named Prof. Artemis Black. Lupin and Potter teased Sirius. "Are y'all related?". "Shut it."

She started her lesson. She cleared her throat and said, "I'm the Mythology teacher, Prof. Black. I'm new and young, so I might speak my mind often. I might do it during class, so just please don't' tell the professors.

Anyways, today's lesson is one of my favorites, the story of Actaeon and Artemis. Actaeon was a hunter, so he probably worked at night sometimes. So he noticed something in the stream. He should have left, for it was the goddess, Diana. Instead, Actaeon sneaked by the waterfall to watch the goddess Diana take a bathe with her maidens, the idiot. When she saw him, she went into a wild rage and turned him into a stag."

James passed a note to Remus and Sirius, his desk mates. Actaeon=me, Diana = Lily. Sirius snorted and Remus smiled to himself.

"He was then hunted and torn to pieces by his own dogs." Professor Black stopped, then giggled at the story and also at Remus and Sirius, who were reenacting the scene by gnawing on James's arms.

"Gerroff me, ya dummies!" James hissed at his friends, who were growling and snarling like dogs.

"What did the rat do?" Peter whispered from behind.

James heard and said, "There was no rat, but you can be one of the maidens." The whole class started cracking up. Pettigrew flushed red and said,"NO THANKS! Isn't that just typical of them.."
