It was any old day in the Gru residence. The family was eating breakfast. ''Oww!'' Margo yelped while eating her toast. ''What's the matter sweetie?'' Lucy asked. ''My tooth wobbled'' Margo replied. ''Okay let me see'' Gru said. He looked in Margo's mouth. ''Margo'' he said, ''You've got a louse tooth''. ''Why?'' Margo asked surprised. ''It's de old baby teeth that fall out'' Gru explained gently, ''So that de new adult teeth can grow in their place.
This reassured Margo. She carefully finished her breakfast and went to clean her teeth taking care not to upset the wobbly one. Later that morning she played a game with her sisters. But she couldn't help poking at her wobbly tooth. Then at lunch time as Margo was chewing her food, she felt something hard in her mouth, she spat out the contents onto her plate and saw something small and white in the centre of all the contents.
''What's wrong Margo?'' Gru asked, ''Were you choking?''. ''No there was something in my food'' Margo said. Gru carefully inspected the plate. ''Margo'' he smiled, ''Your tooth has fallen out''. Margo poked around her mouth with her tongue and felt a gap between her teeth. ''Put it under your pillow tonight Margo'' Lucy instructed. ''Why?'' Margo asked. Her mother smiled and winked. ''You'll see soon enough'' she said.
Gru called for the minions to inspect the fallen the tooth. He ordered them to clean and polish the tooth for the tooth fairy. That night at bedtime, Margo carefully placed the tooth under her pillow and went to sleep. But Edith however had a trick up her sleeve. As soon as the lights were out, she slipped out of bed with her ninja outfit over her pyjamas, tiptoed over to Margo's bed,
swiped the tooth out from under her pillow and placed under her own pillow. she quickly put her ninja outfit away and got back into her own bed. Then gone midnight a sparkle of light flew into the girls' room. But all three girls were fast asleep so none of them noticed. The tooth fairy noticed the gap between Margo's teeth and slipped something under her pillow,
then she checked under Agnes's pillow, she couldn't see anything. Then she flew over to Edith. She saw a tooth under the pillow, she scribbled a note and slipped it under Edith's pillow and took the tooth which she had came for. Next morning, Edith woke to find that was a small piece of paper under her pillow. She unfolded it only to read ''Nice Try Edith''. It was of course from the tooth fairy.
Meanwhile, Margo had woken up to find $5.00 under her pillow much to her delight, although she was oblivious to Edith sneakily stealing the tooth in the first place.
The End
