A.N. I wrote a short Christmas One-Shot! Sorry it's short, but I like it...
I hope you enjoy! R&R!
Happy Holiday!
I DO NOT OWN ANYTHING!
'It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas' Annabeth thought. Gods, she couldn't even think that without getting the song stuck in her head.
It was freezing in New York City, and the snow would not let up. Annabeth could barely make her way through the ridiculously crowded sidewalks to her and her boyfriend's favorite little cafe. She was meeting up with Percy for a Christmas Eve date.
She couldn't wait to see him. The two 20 year olds barely had time to sleep with all their school work; let alone hang out. They were lucky if they got to see or talk to each other once or twice a week. And nearly every time they met up or talked it was usually to help Percy with his homework.
Annabeth felt the warm air hit her face as she entered the cafe. She looked around for Percy, and didn't see him (he was probably running behind as usual), so she grabbed a table in the corner and waited. When the waiter came up, she ordered for the both of them. They went to the cafe as often as possible, and they both always got the same thing.
Annabeth couldn't get over how cute and cozy the cafe was during the Holidays. They had lights strung around the walls and a Christmas tree that towered over all the tables. Soft Christmas music played in the back round that would definitely be stuck in her head by the end of the date.
After several minutes of waiting, Percy arrived. He walked over to Annabeth and gave her a quick kiss. "Sorry I'm late. I got caught in a crowd of people," he explained.
"I'm just glad you made it," Annabeth blurted, then blushed at her cheesiness.
Percy raised his eyebrows in question, but said nothing.
"So what are our plans for tomorrow?" Annabeth asked, eager to fill the lingering silence.
"Meaning?" Percy asked cluelessly.
Annabeth rolled her eyes, does she have to spell everything out for her boyfriend? "Tomorrow's Christmas, Seaweed Brain! Are we gonna hang out? When are we exchanging presents? That kind of stuff,"
At the word presents Percy's eyes widened, and he looked around uncomfortably. "Oh yeah... About that..."
"You forgot to get me a present, didn't you?" Annabeth questioned. She wasn't mad; she kind of expected it. But she had looked so hard for his present, and she had hinted at wanting jewelry so many times. It would've been so easy for him to get a pair of earrings, a necklace, or maybe a ring *wink wink*.
Percy laughed nervously, "Forget? Me?"
"So you got me something, then?"
Percy fingers were drumming against the table loudly. "I just remembered that... I left the sink on in my apartment! And we mustn't waste water. So I'll text you the plans for tomorrow. Or you'll text me, either way. Um, I'll talk to you later. Love you!" He said in one big, frantic rush, and ran out the cafe.
Annabeth smiled to herself. She should probably be mad, but she figured that trying to find a good present on Christmas Eve would be punishment enough.
Oh Percy...
I hope you like it! It was really a last minute thing, but I am sorta happy with it.
Have a wonderful Christmas!
