This was based on a fan song by DJSMELL on youtube. Please go check it out, it's a duet using the music it's raining somewhere. It's so good.

They were walking through Waterfall during their usual pacifist run. They grew tired of the endless loops, but it was out of their hands. Chara was insistent on them killing, always resetting without their consent. They gave up on trying to stop them, attempting countless times with no success.

It was serene as always. It was during one of the periods where they weren't confronted by Undyne or Monster Kid. They felt tired, repeating the same day over and over. They loved everyone they met, but the repetition of it all was getting to them.

Their thoughts went over to a certain skeleton, who they suspect also remembers the resets. They wanted to confide in him, however, he never gave them the opportunity by always sticking to the same script. They felt a bit frustrated but was more sympathetic.

They continued forward, almost reaching Asriel's statue. They walked past the statue, getting an umbrella to cover it with. When they walked back with the umbrella, they were met with the sight of a skeleton, leaning against the statue.

Frisk tapped the sleeping skeleton, waking him from his slumber.

"Sans?"

One eye cracked open, "huh, hey kid."

"What are you doing here?" they tilted their head in confusion.

"i dunno, i thought i'd help you through waterfall."

Frisk uncharacteristically furrowed their eyebrows.

Frisk shook their head slightly, "Why?"

"what? didn't i tell you i'd keep an eyesocket out for ya?' Sans said, winking.

"O..ok."

Sans stood up, shoving his hands in his pockets, "well let's go."

Frisk didn't move, too shocked by his appearance.

"what, you don't want me here?"

"No, no, it's just...It's different, I didn't expect you to be here."

Sans stiffened slightly, then he seemingly covered it with a chuckle.

They walked in silence, Sans slightly ahead of Frisk. He seemed to be bothered by something. Possibly a comment of theirs, however, they weren't sure.

They hoped he knew that he could talk to them. If their suspicions were correct, Sans also remembered the resets. Which can really damage a person, they would know. They wouldn't tell a soul of their discussions, not that another soul would understand anyway.

But they had a feeling that he was just as exhausted as them. Reliving the same day, over and over, knowing every word of dialogue that they heard. No matter how many people they encountered or surrounded by, they felt like they were the only person in the underground.

Even when Papyrus joked around, after the laughter, they felt so alone.

They have a feeling it was the same for Sans. After the jokes, reality comes back and crushes you. They felt bad for Sans, not even having the satisfaction of some kind of control, like saving or reloading. His life was entirely in the hands of Chara and them. Well, that's even if their suspicions were correct.

Which brought them back to Sans breaking the script. What happened to cause his appearance? It was a change, one they gladly welcomed, but the can't help but question his presence. It was also a distraction, one they both were looking for. They were endlessly searching for something to distract them from their repetitive reality. They needed one to get through the loops. His random change in the script was quite refreshing.

They thought back to the skeletons dialogue. His words always seemed to have a string of truth behind them or a confession. He seemed like he was calling out, in a subtle way. This was their opportunity to speak to him like they wanted.

"Don't you know that you could tell me anything, and I would tell not another soul?"
