And the worst part is
Before it gets any better
We're headed for a cliff
And in the free fall I will realize
I'm better off when I hit the bottom
(Turn it off - Paramore)
It has been years that The Circle have been chasing Cammie, and since she ran, shes lost herself. She hit rock bottom. She sat on the edge of the cliff, staring out at the overcoming view of Switzerland. Somehow she had gotten here, on her quest for answers. Then again, it led her everywhere.
She looked down at her hands, remembering the last time she was at Gallagher. Zach kissed her, for the third time. (AN: It is third right? Bit muddled on 3 or 4 times?) He had originally told her to run away with him, but she refused. She couldn't bring anyone. Not even Bex, Macey or Liz. She could never, ever risk anyone she cared for getting hurt because of her.
She looked out into the distance, where the setting sun was seeping through the tall trees, like a god-like light, coming down and shining over the land.
She heard a twig snap behind her, as creepy as that sounds, and reached for the knife in her shoe, taking it out, standing up and holding it out infront of her. She noticed though, a familiar pair of eyes, staring at her from behind their hiding place. The liminosity, from the bright green colour their eyes held, made them more noticable to her.
"Zach?" She spoke out to the hiding fingure with liminuous green eyes. "Is that you?"
"Gallagher girl?" He walked out, infront of her. She was speechless. What was he doing here? On a cliff in Switzerland right infront of her.
"Uh, Cammie?" He waved a hand infront of her.
"Oh, Sorry." She said, putting the knife back in her shoe. "Uh, Sorry" She repeated.
"You said that already." He nodded.
"What are you doing here?" She asked.
"Well Hi to you to Gallagher girl." He smirked.
"Hi." She said, then returned to what she was talking about originally. "Did you follow me?"
He didn't reply.
"What the hell?" She exclaimed. "Why did you follow me?!"
"I had to make sure you were safe. But at first I couldn't find you, and um. I'm not going to go into that anyway. You okay, thats all that matters" He nodded.
"Yeah, thanks." She nodded.
He took a step closer to her, "Your friends and mother are really worried about you." He said.
"I know, but I couldn't take them with me. I couldn't let them know where I was going and worry to much. It will put them in danger." I said.
"I was worried about you." He said, passing what I had said.
"I'm fine." I reassured him.
"You could get hurt."
"I'll be fine."
Nothing more was said after that though, because Zach had somehow gotten closer, and our lips had found each other. It was passionate yet, longing. It was a feeling I had to savour, since I didn't know when It was next that I would feel it again.
We pulled back at the same time, but Zach kept his slight embrace on me, "Let me come with you." He said, "We can keep each other safe."
"I can't let you get hurt" I said, and he shushed me with another kiss, yet it was much shorter than the other.
"I'll be with you. You'll be with me. We can keep each other safe." He explained.
"What if one of us gets hurt, or taken?"
"We won't let that happen. I won't let that happen."
"Zach." I said, "I missed you."
"I know, Cammie." He replied, "I know."
And in that short space of time, lasting after he said that. He kissed me again. And we started my original search for answers, which was now ours, together.
I wasn't at rock bottom anymore, I now had hope and company.
It was just random drabble from a song I love.
