Had this idea as I watched it in theaters. Then I wrote it on here. Then I procrastinated editing and publishing.. but I need more doc space xD

So here goes nothing! Hope you like it!

One-shot :3

Hours had passed and the photo was still on her mind.

She found herself sitting in the shabby break room at the back of the building. Hardly anyone walked in - this was usually the time she had to herself outside of her office. It was often that she was alone with her thoughts but never before had she thought of uttering those words.

But no one was around. No one would hear.

The photo had been a welcomed surprise. She hadn't forgotten about him, about Steve...

She kept it to herself but sometimes, she needed to speak, to have it known to the silent world that wouldn't answer back to her.

"He gave me the power I needed."

Her own voice sounded distant and hollow as if she and her voice were separated. As if her voice were inside a room and she was outside listening. It was fuzzy and not at all like her. But it kept talking.

"He knew what I was capable of, I think. Somehow.

"By leaving, by sacrificing himself, he knew. He gave me what I needed." She tapped the tip of her pen on the table, dragging the cap along the surface.

"The moment to find my strength."

She laughed lightly to herself. Then it faded and her brown eyes shifted to the empty wall opposite her. "The strength everybody but myself knew I was capable of."

"I wish we had more time."

She blinked from her reverie at the deep voice. "What?" She looked to the man who spoke.

"Time," he smiled. He held up his empty Styrofoam cup. "You know, coffee break." He grinned, "Sounds like one hell of a great story."

She looked at him.

His eyes were those same familiar blue orbs she had seen all those years ago. But then.. they couldn't be the same ones. Yet...

He smiled- that smile. "Come on, Diana."

She stared after him. Her confusion melted into amusement.

She matched his grin.
