Oh, the Irony

Yeah, yeah. I am working on my other two stories right now. "The Secrets They Kept From Me" and "Born to Die." But really, I got this idea while washing dishes, and I knew it would never leave me alone until I did it. Hope you like!

Prim walked into the room where Katniss was furiously scribbling some kind of note to Peeta in. "Hey, Katniss. Wanna hear a joke?"

Katniss waved her away. "Not now, Prim."

Prim pouted and plopped down on the couch facing her sister. She watched her sister nibble her lower lip as she wrote away on the sheet of paper. Finally, she couldn't hold it in anymore. "Where did Susie go during the bombing?"

Katniss stopped writing and looked up, her gray eyes full of shock. "What?" Katniss brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, and Prim envied the reddish brown hair that was currently tied behind her sister's head in a braid. But she pushed the envy away and smiled.

"Where. Did. Susie. Go. During. The. Bombing?"

Katniss looked uncertain. "I don't know, and I am not sure I want to."

"Do you want the answer or not?"

"Whatever."

Prim took a deep breath. "Where did Susie go during the bombing?" She bit back a giggle. "Everywhere!"

Katniss gasped. "Prim . . . that is so . . . morbid." She shook her head and looked back down at her paper, continuing her writing.

Prim just watched her for a few more minutes before speaking again. "Knock, knock."

Katniss looked up briefly. "No, Prim. I don't want to do anymore jokes right now."

"Knock, knock."

"No."

"Knock, knock."

Katniss threw her pen down. "Do we have to do this right now?"

"Yes."

Katniss buried her head in her knees. "Gah, fine, whatever."

"Knock, knock."

"Who's there?" Prim heard, even though her sister had mumbled it into her knees.

Prim leaned forward and flashed a smile. "Not Susie."

Katniss looked up, her eyes disbelieving. And then a snort of laughter left her mouth. "Okay, I admit, you got me there. But really, why are you so morose lately?"

"I'm not. Peeta taught me that one."

Katniss' eyes narrowed. "Peeta?"

Prim nodded. "Peeta."

Katniss stood up from the couch, her pen and paper forgotten. "I shall go speak to him right now. See you later, Little Duck." Katniss left the room without saying anything else.

Prim smiled. "Quack."

Tsk, tsk. Look at our little Prim. Anyway, I'm not sure if this is modern day, or an alternate ending, or what. Let it be what you want it to be. Hope you liked! Remember, leave a review! Muah! 3 3 3
