"Yao~"

The dark-haired nation sighed and closed his book. He had been trying to enjoy a peaceful afternoon in his garden. He had gotten two new coy for the pond, the sun was shining, and Yong-soo was out with Kiku and Mei. Yes, so far it had been close to a perfect day for the old nation to relax. But now that Ivan had shown up, he had no chance of finishing his page, let alone the chapter, he had been reading.

"What do you want, aru?"

Ivan plopped down happily next to his favorite Asian on the grass, wrapping his arms around the small waist as he nuzzled his cheek against Yao's shoulder. He rather enjoyed snuggling with the smaller man.

Yao, on the other hand, didn't enjoy them as much. "I said," he said, wriggling out of Ivan's hold, "what do you want?"

The Russian pouted, though Yao looked unfazed. "I just wanted to come and spend time with you Jao..."

"Well, I'm reading my book, aru. This is the first time in a long time that Im Yong-soo hasn't been here to prevent me from doing so, so I plan to take advantage of it." To prove his point, the Chinese man picked up his book again, and started reading from where he'd left off, ignoring the disappointed aura Ivan was radiating.

There was a reasonable amount of silence, though it wasn't uncomfortable, and for a moment, Yao began to believe that he'd managed to get Ivan to leave him alone without too much of a hassle. Oh boy, was he wrong.

"Yao, why are your sleeves so long?" Ivan asked suddenly, looking pointedly at the red sleeves which managed to cover the Asian's beautiful and graceful hands. "All your sleeves are like that, da?"

As if gaining this information for the first time, Yao also looked down at his sleeves. "I don't really know, aru." He shrugged and went back to reading.

Smiling, Ivan gently took the book from his companion's hands, making sure to save the page, and set it down on the ground next to them. The Chinese looked at him in confusion, but didn't say anything until Ivan took his wrists in his large hands.

"What are you doing, aru?"

"You'll see~" Ivan said happily. Carefully, the Russian took the ends of both of Yao's sleeves, and before the Asian knew what was happening, skillfully tied them into a tight knot.

Yao looked up at Ivan. Then back to the knot. Back to Ivan. Knot. Ivan. Knot. Ivan- who gave him a wide grin. Yao jumped up angrily and tried to the best of his ability to free his arms. He pulled and tugged, only to find that made the knot tighter. Then he attempted to pull it apart with his teeth. He found out at that moment that Russians were very good at tying knots. "Why did you do that, aru?"he said, exasperated.

"So I could do this," Ivan responded, grabbing hold of the knotted sleeves and pulling Yao back to the ground so he was sitting. Then, he took the other man's delicate arms in his hands and put them around his own neck. "Now we can cuddle, da?"

Omi-chan: Plot bunny attack! But I liked this one, even if it isreally short. Actually, I think it's the shortest thing I've ever written. But I love this pairing, and I thought it'd be fun to write~ My uncle does that to me- ties my sleeves. Just for the sake of watching me struggle with them. One time he also duct taped me and my cousin together and then left us home alone for two hours. (My aunt came home and freed us.) He does stuff like that XD

And did you know, when Ivan says "Jao" it pretty much sounds the same as "Yao". Yeah. My aunt's exchange student is from Latvia and he knows Russian, and he told me the other day that J's in Russian is almost identical to Y. But it's cuter for Ivan to say Jao, I think.

Review, S'il Vous Plait~ Or I'll tie your sleeves! C=
