Goodbye
"NO!" The rain pounded on the ground, the clouds looming above. He ran with all his power to reach her; to save her. He could see the emotions play through her face, the sword making contact with her flesh.
Her crumpled form lay on the ground as the rain washed the blood into the grass. It ahd taken her last bit of energy to kill him. She had given up everything for the Shikon Jewel.
"No Damnit! It wasn't supposed to be like this..." he trailed off, bending down. "C'mon, you're going to be okay!" he shouted.
She started slightly coughing. She looked up at him.
"We're-I'm going to get you to Kaedae. Everything will be okay." His voice was shaky as he tried to lift her from the ground without hurting her more. He could here her breathing. Slowly, it came less frequent. 'Shit!'
"Kagome," her eyes became dark, and clouded over, "No, Kagome. C'mon, stay awake!" He stopped, and set her down, leaning her body against his arm.
"Inuyasha...," She smiled weakly, staring up into his eyes, "I'm here still...." The words came broken, she was struggling for the air just to speak. He couldn't think of anything to say or do but stare into her eyes. The eyes which once showed such emotion were now just empty. He blinked back the tears in the corners of his eyes.
"Gods Kagome...you can't leave..." He whispered. The rain began to pound around them. The wind howled as the faint steps of Sango approached the group.
"She's not going to...is she?" Sango asked, the fear and sadness evident in her voice. She slowly took a few steps forward gazing at Miroku. Miroku shook his head sadly. "No..." She whispered, and felt her legs give weigh. She fell to the ground. "She can't..."
"Inuyasha..." her voice was weaker then it ever had been, barley above a whisper. "Take this..." She opened her fist, revaling the Shikon no Tama. "I don't think...I need it any more..." She smiled weekly, as she felt the tears coming.
"No, Kagome. Don't think like that...You'll be fine..." Her eyes showed such sadness and hurt that he couldn't look her in the eyes. Not without thinking about the memories. The good times, and even the bad times.
"Inuyasha..." He skin was growing steadily paler, and icier. "Please..." She placed the jewel in his hands, and looked forward at the forest. The forest of Inuyasha, where they had first met. She tried to wipe away the tears on her face, but her energy was draining.
"Kagome....you'll be okay...." He tried to reassure her, but he couldn't help but doubt it as he watched her. Slowly, she looked at him. His amber eyes were filled with...she couldn't tell what it was, but it was different from before. Different then anytime before.
The last sight she remembered was his eyes, staring at her. She closed her eyes, for the last time. He felt her pulse slow down, and her breathing gradually stopped.
"No..." He whispered. "Just....hold on!" He tried to make a run for the village, but a little part of him kept nagging, saying that it was too late. He refused to let himself to believe it, 'Kagome's going to be fine!' He couldn't help but think about what had happened.
"Goodbye..." Her last word.

Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha.
Okay, I'm going to try and make this into a further story, sort of like Sunset. A three-chapter thing... Please, tell me what you would like me to do:
