Disclaimer: (tear rolls down cheek). Sadly, I do not own LOTR. I really wish I did. But then again don't we all.

Summary: Hope has had a hard life. Her mother died when she was very young, she never knew her father, and she's been shepherded from foster family to foster family all her life, never truly fitting in. The only friend she has is her beautiful black mare, Faith. Both of them long for a real family to love them and the chance to show themselves as who they really, courageous, dedicated, and full of hope. When the two of them end up in Middle-Earth with the Fellowship it finally seems that they've found a home and people who love them. But will it last? Will they finally find someone to love them or will they remain homeless and hopeless?

Authoress Note: Sorry my summary has taken up so much room, and the chapter is really small, but think of it as more of a teaser to get you interested in the story. I hope you'll read and review and continue to do so throughout the story. So, without further ado I present to you my story, Full of Hope, Full of Faith.

Chapter 1

"Where'll we run to now, Faith? I'm not going back to the agency to be put in another foster home that we'll run away from again only to be caught once more." Hope stroked the horse's soft nose in thought. "Besides tomorrow is my eighteenth birthday so technically I'm not a child anymore. What do you say to that girl?"

Your eighteenth, eh? Your eighteenth. Faith's voice crossed Hope's mind in a whisper as a dreamy look crossed her face. Your eighteenth. You're not a child anymore. No, I suppose not. Faith shook her head softly. I suppose not.

"Faith, are you all right," Hope stared into the fantastically black eyes of her only friend, they looked like gaping black holes ready to suck you into a distant land. "What do say to my proposition?"

Faith shook her head again, harder this time, as if to clear away her thoughts. I say we just start running and see where we end up.

With a smile Hope climbed onto her beloved horse's back and together they set off into the twilight, eager to start their ride and to see just where they'll end up.
