Disclaimer: As awesomely sick as that would be ... nope, not mine.
Rated T for a swear word or two. Or maybe three ... ;).
A/N: Already did some Dov and Andy, so not it's Sam's turn! Trying to do a variety of people ... though I always end up with more Sam and Andy ideas than anything else, and there will most likely be more of them, lol.
I didn't really like Luke going back to Andy, because it's another delay in Sam and Andy - together, of course - being a reality ... but this one came to me because I found it interesting that Sam's the one pushing Luke back to Andy.
Just another quickie, lol, as it is a drabble.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy!

Sam Swarek. Set after 'Big Nickel'.
He wants to kick himself for it afterwards.
Sure, he wasn't lying when he said that Callaghan's a good guy and a great detective. He doesn't like the guy, not in the slightest, but he can admit that the guy's good at his job and not a complete asshole, or anything. But he seriously doesn't have a clue why he basically told him to man up, stop being stupid, and run back to McNally already.
Well, that's not exactly true …
He thinks that he might know a reason why he did it. But he isn't too sure he likes the reason very much. (Actually, he's pretty positive that he'd deny that it's the reason if he was asked by anyone.)
He wants Andy to be happy. And as much as he doesn't like it, Callaghan makes her happy. (Or at least, she sure seems to think that he does. Personally, he doesn't have a clue why she's with him – or was, whatever. He just doesn't seem like her type, in his opinion. She doesn't look like the kind of girl who goes after the good guy, on the lookout for her Prince Charming …)
So, he does what he has to do to make her happy.
He still wants to kick himself for it, though … Because as much as he wants her to be happy, he really doesn't want her to be with Luke. He doesn't want her with anyone, really. Anyone, that is, but him.
(There are rules against that, though … and even though he's never been a stickler for the rules by any means, this is one rule that he's not going to break. Not with her, at least. He won't risk throwing her career under the bus like that. She's a good cop in the making, and he's not going to ruin that; no matter how much he wants to.)
But he can convince himself otherwise if he needs to.
If playing house with Luke is really what she wants, what makes her happy, he can deal with it. Maybe not well … but if it equals a smile on her face, it doesn't really matter what he wants, does it?
Oh, he'll no doubt want to personally wipe the smile on Callaghan's face … but Andy's smile will make it all worth it in the end.
It will …
Or at least he sure hopes it does; because right now he's pretty fucking miserable just thinking about her back together with him, and he's already sick and tired of feeling that way.
