Stroking her newborn daughter's fur, The black and gold queen smiled slightly. Her daughter's fur was a rusty black with a pure white chest, her ears were a nice large size and she had a jet black nose that wiggled. Demeter gazed at her kit's face, so sweet and innocent. The little she kit would never know her father, as he was the evil Macavity. Demeter purred, she was so proud to be a mother. When Demeter was a kit, she knew she wanted to have kits and raise them, The gold and black queen awed as her little girl yawned. The overhead light of the alley flickered, Demeter knew her daughter needed a wonderful name, a powerful name, a sweet name. The first name that came to her mind ; Jemima. Meaning Dove in Hebrew, it was perfect.

" Jemima." Demeter whispered to her kit, who shifted in her arms.

Demeter heard a loud booming noise; Macavity, The black and gold queen quickly dashed off to her brother, Munkustrap's den in the Jellicle Junkyard.

Years Later, Little Jemima had grown up. It was a special day, Mother's Day. The time was barely even dawn, yet Jemima was frantically working in her room making something for her beloved mother. In the pass few years, Demeter and Jemima had moved into a small, yet cozy den in the Junkyard. Jemima giggled as the glitter fell gracefully onto the purple cardboard. With her tongue sticking out, Jemima tried her best not to scribble a pretty flower on her card. She blew her fur out of her face and mewed a " Done!"

The rust black kitten looked at herself in the mirror, looking adorable as ever. Her purple pajama's looked darling, a Christmas present from Uncle Munkustrap. Jemima's mouth opened as she yawned and bared her teeth in the mirror. She skidded out of her room and crept into her mother's bedroom, which smelled like vanilla candles, as it always did. Jemima gawked at her mother sleeping, the covers raising up and down with every breath Demeter breathed in.

" Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!" Jemima purred in contentment as she pounced onto her mother's bed, holding card in her paws.

The gold and black queen smiled and rubbed her eyes " Thank you, sweetie!"

" Do you want to se my card that I made you?" Jemima blinked her enormous eyes with happiness she handed her card to her Mother.

" Roses are Red.

Violets are BlueI'm so lucky, To have a mother like you.

Love, Jemima.." Demeter read with a big smile on her face.

The small kit mewed " Do you like it?"

Hugging her daughter tightly the queen smiled " Nope."

" What?" Jemima cried out, tears in her large eyes.

Demeter reassured her daughter " I love it."

" Oh.. I made you breakfast!" The rust colored kit sweetly grabbed her mother's paw and lead her to the kitchen.

On the kitchen table, Jemima had picked a single rose, and put it in a crystal vase with water in it. On the good China plates, lay a sandwich and a glass of milk nearby. Demeter picked up the sandwich and chomped into it.

" I made it just for you! Because you don't like jelly, It just has peanut butter on it." Jemima rocked back and forth, her paws clamped together behind her back.

Demeter kissed her daughter on the lips " Thank you, sweetie!"

" Your welcome, Mommy. I did it because I couldn't ask for a better Mother than you, Not Even Aunt Bomby!" Jemima blinked her large oval eyes.

Demeter hugged her daughter tightly " Awww! Honey, I couldn't ask for a better Daughter than you! Are you sure you don't love your Aunt Bomby more than me?"

" Nope! I love you more than Aunt Bomby!" Jemima purred as she clung to her Mother.

" I love you." They said in union.

Happy Mother's Day!
