Prologue

13 years earlier

The sea was rough and violent, any ship that dared to sail was immediately swallowed up by its wrath. There are only a two reasons why a ship would be in this violent storm. One, the crew is a mad bunch of pirates or desperate men in need of some money. The final reason is the promise of peace, however not just any peace, but peace of mind, heart, and soul.

The crew on board the Crais, were usually a lively, raunchy, and carefree bunch of men, but tonight they were somber and solemn. In this fierce gale their captain made them promise to him that no matter how belligerent the storm gets or the threat of capsizing they'll get their passenger to the Islands south of Esameria, even if it meant their lives.

"Jod, tell those fats to keep bailin' out the water!" bellowed the captain, as the belligerent wind muffled out most of his voice.

"Aye, sir!" replied Jod, "You heard the captain keep bailin' out the water, you lards!"

'The storm is getting more violent.' thought the captain. In all of is forty-five years at sea. HE had never faced a storm like this before. The ship kept flopping around the surface, like a fish on land desperate for water. The old captain lost count of how many times his bowels emptied out of his mouth or how many times the sea was threatening to capsize them.

A crewman near the bow of the ship walked, with great effort, to the steering wheel where the captain was.

"Sir, this storm is too strong. We must turn back!" yelled the crewman against the howling wind.

"No, NO! We keep sailing no matter what the cost. You made that promise to me, on pain of death. Let this be warning to you, if you speak of this action again I'll throw you over myself!" replied the captain.

"But ..."

The crewman never got the chance to finish his sentence. As the captain broke his nose with a large fist, then as the crewman doubled over in pain clutching his bloody nose. The captain threw him over the side and into the unmerciful sea.

"AAAHHHHHHHHHHH"

The captain looked over to his crews' shocked faces, and gave them a deathly stern face that they have never seen before.

"We get to the islands! No matter what's at cost! Said the captain, through clenched teeth.

'We must get there. We must' thought the captain, as he turned around and went back to the wheel. 'WE MUST'
