This was it. She had to feel something, she needed too, because this numbness was slowly killing her, and she just needed something to make it through the night. Alison was making it hard enough already, she wasn't the same girl she once was before she disappeared, and though Emily clung onto the hope that the gorgeous blonde would soon come around, that she'd be right back where she was, she knew it would never happen.

Emily was stood in the middle of the road, and the last she'd checked, it was a little about three in the morning, her parents fast asleep back at the family home, and after driving a little out of town to where it was quietest, she stood and waited for the next speeding vehicle to come hurtling towards her.

Love was painful, and after years of holding onto love for a 'dead' girl, only to find out that her death wasn't real, nor was the love when Ali returned, it had all become too much for young girl to deal with, it was a struggle now, and nothing seemed managable when she couldn't feel anything anymore, and this was her last chance at getting what she craved for most.

After what seemed like an hour stood in the middle of the lonely road, headlights came into sight, and by the look of it, Emily knew it was coming down fast. This was it. She took in a deep breath and slowly let her eyes fall shut, waiting for metal to collide with her body, waiting for the pain of broken bones and ripped skin, waiting for something... but nothing. Nothing until something did collide with her, but not the speeding car from up ahead, but another being.

Emily cried out when their bodies hit the single lane footpath, but not because she'd landed badly, but because she'd not got what she wanted, and after shouting and using her one free arm to throw blind punches at the other, she began to cry out.

"Why?" She managed after a moment. "Why did you do that!"

"Are you serious, Em? The second I saw you there, I wasn't going to let you do that."

Emily laid silent for a moment, refusing to believe the voice she'd heard, wanting to refuse the belief that she was actually still alright, and after the quick blare of the horn of the car as it sped past, she allowed to open her eyes and look through tears to the blonde that was laid on top of her.

"Han, you shouldn't have bothered." She barely pushed out, avoiding all eye contact.

"I'm not going to let you do that, you could have been killed, do you really think I'd have let you kill yourself, right there, right then? I'm not losing you when I can at least try to help." The other muttered back, adrenaline racing through her body. "What's going on with you? Please, please talk to me." The blonde pleaded quietly, before moving them both to a slightly more comfortable position, staring at her best friend. "Please."
