A/N: Tiny blurb I wrote up about Sodapop and a character named Grace. Enjoy & Review!

xXx

Never had there been a girl so beautifully happy that it was as if the entire world's sunshine had somehow ended up lying on her face. The dew gently rolled off of her freckled cheeks and onto her lips, which she went onto lick as the droplet tickled her every so slightly, but just apparent enough for me to notice.

I had been foolish enough to not show her more directly how much I cared for her, so here I am, suffering in a bittersweet silence, unbeknownst of how she could feel about me.

"Soda, are you feeling okay?"

Her soft whisper of a voice hung in my brain, though I continued to stay wandering in my thoughts. I acknowledged her speech inside of my head, but I didn't show that I comprehended outside of my own knowledge.

"Soda?" she asked as her voice got slightly louder. She knew being quiet was crucial. and so did I. Once again I acknowledged her talking to me, but I was so wrapped up in my thoughts I didn't let that show.

"For Christ's sake, Sodapop, are you alive?"

She shook my shoulder vigorously now and I snapped my head at her, "For Christ's sake, Grace, I heard you the first time,"

She rolled her eyes and looked away into the distance, the waves crashing along the horizon of the now blackened sky. Above, the stars glistened down, her eyes being illuminated to match the color of the grass below us. They grew darker as she looked down at me, the stars no longer in her eyes. "Then answer me the first time I say it next time, goddamnit."

"Sorry."

Her pale pink lips curved up at the corners and she sighed deeply, sounding almost relieved. "That's like the third time you've done that this week."

"Lot's going on in this big ole' head of mine," I said nervously as I pointed to head.

She reached her hand up to my hair and ran her fingers through it, slowly, softly. "This head?" She was so close. I could smell her body spray radiate off of her, the heavenly scent filling my nose. I shut my eyes and embraced it.

"Yeah. That one." Slowly, I reached up and took her hand in mine, my heart beating so fast she could probably feel my pulse in my fingertips. With my free hand, I took a strand of dusty brown hair that fell over her face and twisted it in my fingers. She laughed and pushed her hair behind her ears with her free hand.

I looked her face up and down, from her deep green eyes to her perfectly freckled cheeks. all the way to her plump pink lips.

A feeling arose in my stomach, but I couldn't describe it as butterflies. It was like someone was folding and turning my intestines to be spun into a perfectly knotted knot, whilst being squeezed.

It was tight in my chest and my breathing stiffened as I leaned in and pressed my lips gently against hers, feeling the urgency to push harder, and pulled away.

She looked at me with this look. It was a look I'd yet to see until now. It was like she was a deer in headlights, but a deer who knew that whatever was going to happen beyond those headlights was the thing they had been waiting for their whole life.

Quickly, she grabbed the back of my neck and pulled me in, her lips graciously finding their balance between mine. The feeling inside of my stomach only intensified as our lips moved as once and our bodies urged to push together.

I pulled away and stared at her.

"Well I'll be damned," I breathed.

She laughed softly and leaned back onto the cool midnight grass, "You know it was bound to happen."
