No updates on The Phoenix (somebody help I can't anymore) so boom. New fanfic. This was more or less inspired by an incomplete poem I wrote during Computer class while waiting for my classmates to finish compiling their webpages (I'm not in college. I'm just an eighth grader). Before I knew it, I abandoned it just to play "Typing Trainer".

Do take note that just like some of my other fics (like "Rolling Bear" for instance), this will contain dark themes. I advise those who've had some sort of trauma in the past to please decide carefully if you are to continue on reading this or press the Back button.

Oh yeah, this in some way will be AU-ish to the "The Phoenix". If anyone has read its Chapter 3, then you would know what was "AU-ish" there.

DISCLAIMER: I don't own We Bare Bears.

Silence. That was the name given to him. What was such a quiet, little, fragile soul doing in a world full of ear-piercing noises? What was his purpose anyway? Nobody ever knew. Yet, they let him walk on his two feet. They let him eat, drink, and do everything a being could do. He grew up to be someone like them. Well, except that he was silent, hence the name. Some people questioned his nature. Couldn't this person talk? Couldn't he emit a voice? Was he that useless?

Even so, he was silent. He just thought, They couldn't understand. They never will. And silence doesn't want them to know that story. What was the story of this little being? Up until now, it remained as a mystery.

Every time he would walk along the thing he called his house, he would hear voices grow loud.

"I wonder why he doesn't want to speak..."

"If he does speak though, it's rare, no?"

"Yeah. With him like that, he's going to grow up as a useless person."

"How so?"

"...well, in this world, the only way for you to survive is to speak up. With this kid not speaking at all, I doubt he's going to make it through life without an insult from someone. He may have the moves to fight. But that will surely put him in jail, for sure."

"You know that's not a nice way to put it."

"I'm just being honest. He needs to start saying something or else he's as dead as good meat."

And even with that kind of insult, he stayed silent. He couldn't do anything about it anymore, can he? Well...not after what happened...

But what they said came true. Everywhere he went, there were insults there and there. He had the will to fight, but he knew that they were bigger and stronger. He wanted to say something, but he couldn't. Emitting a voice was hard. He got so used to being silent that he forgot how to speak. And every time that would happen, he would run out. When his brothers were absent, he would cry all alone.

He wasn't useless. He tried his best just to please them; to at least make it up to the speaking part. But no matter how hard he tried, nothing could work. Forever would he stay as a silent, good-for-nothing being.

And with a blade so sharp did his voice finally come out.

As the last of his soul disappeared, the sounds of his screams as he saw a female bear trying to reach out to him replayed in his mind.

Before anyone knew of it, he went back to his silent state. And he would stay like that...forever.

It escalated quickly, I know. I'm sorry. I rushed this because after this, I have an awarding to go to. I'm going to get my gold medal for I did okay in Math. I wanted to write this before the inspiration would fade away.

Thoughts?
