Artemis After Wally
It's been about a month after Wally, and I feel, like I'm in a bowl of confusion, desperation, and depression. The only person that I can talk to, shockingly, is Nightwing. He misses Wally as much as I do. So, we have a plan, a plan to get our team member back on the team. A portal. To the Speed Force.
According to Zatana, Wally has run so fast, that he vanished into the Speed Force right before our eyes. She said, "There is a way to get to him, Arty, a portal." So, we teamed up with Martian Man and Zatana. Apparently Barry drifted into the Speed Force as well. So, we asked some questions. "What is it like in the Speed Force? Can average people go in without getting hurt?" "Well," Barry said, "it's like a mist of blue, mainly, and other colors surrounding you. Luckily Hawk Girl grabbed me before I was too late and I was saved. I'm not sure if average people can make it in. Are you that desperate to get to Wally? I mean, I miss him too, but to risk your own life?" he said, "Anything for Wally. Anything."
After a long month of planning and precise building, the portal was built. Barry was too nervous about me entering first, so he wanted to enter since he has experience. "I should probably go first." He said. "No." I replied, "This is my problem and I need to fix it myself." "Okay…." He said. Martian Man plugged in the portal and it swirled to life. "I'm coming Wally. I'm coming." "Remember Artemis, you may experience illusions or your biggest fears may appear as a picture in front of you or you may feel them." Barry said. I just nodded. I was willing to do whatever it took to get Wally. Even if it meant scaring me of my biggest fears or even killing me. If I die in the Speed Force, I get Wally. I get what I want either way. I stepped into the portal.
I felt my body vanish and just my spirit linger. Wally was right in front of me! He just couldn't see me because he was turned around! "Wally!" I screamed. "Wally" whipped his head around, and instead of Wally's face….it was a faceless man. He had no mouth, nose, ears, or eyes. But he reminded me of something. My past. Of people judging me and my family. Then his face replayed Wally's death. I screamed. "Get Away!" I reached for my bows, but they were gone! I brought them with me! The creature of my fears stalked towards me, playing Wally's death over and over again. "WALLYYYY!" I screamed. Everything went black.
I awoke in my bed. "Am I in the Speed Force? Where's Wally? Where's that man?!" "ARTY! OH, ARTY YOU'RE AWAKE!" screamed the voice I've been wanting to hear for one thousand years. It was Wally. Wally West.
