Hunter stepped out of the limo lazily, looking up at the majestic building.

"Thanks, James." He threw a glance at the driver before grabbing his suitcases from the trunk and moving towards the school.

"Ah, Hunter, I presume?" Without warning, the doors flew open, revealing a woman. She wasn't particularly tall, and her eyes twinkled with mischief.

He smiled in her direction before moving towards the steps and holding out a hand.

"Hunter Clarendon, reporting for duty, ma'am!" The woman grinned at him.

"You're going to fit in here fine. Just wait till you meet the others!" Hunter's face fell. All the other students had been there for months, and they all knew each other, yet he was going straight into senior year without anybody to help him.

"Right this way, dear!" trilled the lady (he really had to find out her name) before quickly moving off to the side, following corridor after corridor in a winding pattern until finally she stopped outside a door with "154: Clarendon" marked clearly next to the handle.

"Well, I'll leave you to get settled in. In room 155, Nicholas and Jeffrey will probably be happy to help or answer any questions you might have about how the school works. Here's your welcome booklet, map, and class schedule." Without waiting for an answer, the little woman vanished round another corner.

"Wait, I - " Hunter stepped back and grimaced. Right. Unpacking. Good idea. He turned around, staring at the door. Yep, that was his name, so that was definitely his room. No turning back now. He had just raised his hand to the door knob when suddenly a voice made him whip round.

"Hello. My name is Sebastian Smythe."

Hunter swallowed. Took a deep breath. Held out his hand.

"Hunter Clarendon." Yep, that sounded about snarky enough for his new persona. Hey, new school, new him, right?

A hand grabbed his and shook once, but didn't let go immediately. Hunter frowned and looked up, only to freeze. Wow. Just, wow.

A smooth eyebrow raised. Hunter dropped his hand like it had been burned and turned back to open the door, only to find that Sebastian had already reached for the handle.

"May I?"

Hunter gave a miniscule nod, but that seemed to be enough of an invitation for him, as he swept in the room.

"So. New kid. Senior, yes?" Hunter shook himself. New personality, remember? He straightened his shoulders and smirked.

"That's right. I'm here to take over the Glee club."

Sebastian's smile dropped.

"Ah. That might be a problem, as I'm captain of the Warblers."

Hunter chuckled. "The Warblers? You named yourselves after cute little birds? I'm sure that's really apt."

His laughter was met with a stony glare. "The Warblers have been running as an official acapella group since the school first opened. We didn't name ourselves. We've been named for generations. And yes, I'm the leader of our cute little bird group, thank you very much."

Sebastian uncrossed his long legs from where he'd been sitting on the bed, and tipped an imaginary hat in Hunter's direction.

"Thanks for the tip off, but I think the Warblers are perfectly fine without your leadership. You're welcome to try out though. Maybe you can be the guitar strums? Or just sway in the background?"

Hunter tried not to think about the way Sebastian's body looked as he stalked out of the room. Enemies already? Fine. He wouldn't know what had hit him.
