Draco Malfoy's life was going pretty amazingly. He had everything anyone could want - a loving family, a cosy place to call home and the steady job of a lifeguard he loved so much. Having spent almost all his life swimming and underwater his job sounded more comfortable to Draco rather than joining his family's business. Thankfully, his parents have understood his dilemma and supported him nonetheless.

The only thing missing in his life was love. It didn't mean that Draco didn't have a special someone, no. The Malfoy boy had the biggest crush on one, Luna Lovegood, who had recently joined the club for swimming classes. Every time he tried to ask her out or tell her about how he felt, Draco would chicken out. He would be a stuttering mess and would always end up getting embarrassed.

'Not today though,' he thought when the girl of his dreams came into view, wearing her swimming gear. Her way of dressing was very odd, but it suited her nonetheless.

"Hello, Draco," Luna said as she reached him.

"Hello, Luna! How are you doing?"

"I'm doing very well, thank you. How about you?"

"Great!" Draco said, smile permanent on his face now that he had seen her. "How are swimming lessons coming along?" he asked as the duo moved towards the poolside. He watched in awe as she put on her swimming goggles. How can she look so beautiful without even trying?

"Brilliant! I didn't think I would ever be able to learn it this fast." Luna gave him a dazzling smile, one that made Draco's heart flutter. With one last glance in his direction, she slowly and steadily lowered herself in the cold water, mentally going over the breathing techniques.

"Remember not to hold your breath underwater. Inhale and exhale through your nose while humming slowly with your mouth." Draco instructed in his professor-like tone, earning a thankful nod from her.

She moved effortlessly in the pool - 'Keep your head in neutral position, and eyes on the bottom of the pool rather than forward.' Luna kept chanting in her mind.

Draco stood right by the poolside, his eyes never leaving her form.

"Stretch your arms properly and maintain your buoy." He shouted in encouragement. Luna internally smiled at his praising words; it wasn't often that Draco gave compliments. Her skills were really improving, it seemed. After another hour of training and hard work, Luna came out. Over the past month that she had been coming, she had noticed how flustered Draco became around her or the blush that crept upon his cheeks. If being honest, she found it really adorable. She was drying herself up when Draco came up to her.

"Great job. You were really nice today." He said.

"How come you never asked me out?" She questioned suddenly making his eyes widen comically.

"I...I what?!" Draco stuttered.

"Do you want me to repeat the question?" Luna smirked; she definitely was enjoying this a lot.

"NO!"

"Well then?" She said again furrowed brows while the boy was suddenly feeling very nervous.

"Would you like to go out for dinner sometime?" Draco asked scratching the back of his neck anxiously.

"I would love that. Does seven sound good?"

"Sounds perfect," he gave her a confident smile before he watched her leave. He finally asked her out; Draco couldn't believe his luck.
