Rain…it described how he felt. How horrible he felt. He never wanted to do what he did, but he was forced to, right? He had to, right? He looked up towards the stars even though they were shielded by the storm clouds and as the rain hit his scared face and slid down there were tears that melded with the sacred water. Hidden tears no one would be allowed to see but the fierce storm.
He trudged his way up the steps to the modest two story house, boots coated in mud and blood leaving a sickening trail behind him and as he approached, the door flung open and a brunette woman stood there staring up into his eyes. What was behind those dark chocolate brown eyes she wore? Fear? Worry? For him? He didn't feel worthy of those emotions towards him right now. He just wanted to be alone.
He knew this war would cause many casualties and rain death down around them in waves of blood, but he didn't think that he would lose the one brother that had always been there for him when they were together. He knew she was following him and he didn't want her too, but he knew her well enough to know that once she got her questions answered, she'd leave him be, and he still needed her.
Another pair of brown eyes greeted him when he entered the small living room, and he just turned away and stumbled to the couch. The woman shooed the other male from the room and sat on the coffee table across from him, watching him, worried.
"Are you hurt?" she finally managed to ask.
"Not physically," he replied, voice gruff and heavy with emotions, "No."
"What happened?"
"I killed my brother tonight…" he replied, looking into her eyes. "I killed Gabriel."
