A/N: Just a little something that I've done with a couple of my other fandoms. Thought I'd give it a shot with these two as well :) Hope you enjoy!

The Escapee
Trip was awake and rushing into the bathroom before he'd even had time to register her scream.
He skidded to a stop at the door when he caught sight of Hoshi standing in the middle of the room, clad only in a towel and glaring at something in one of the corners of the roof. Satisfied that she wasn't hurt he followed her gaze and stifled his laughter.
Hoshi turned to face him, "It is not funny," she informed him.
Trip nodded, desperately trying to wipe all traces of amusement from his face. Apparently he didn't succeed as he watched Hoshi's eyes narrow dangerously.
"Phlox let one of his...creatures escape again," she told him, "I stepped out of the shower and there it was. I would have thought you'd be more understanding. It could be poisonous, it might even have bitten me and all you can do is laugh!" she continued.
At her tone Trip lost all vestiges of his amusement, "Hoshi, darlin'," he began in his best placating tone, "I'm not laughing because it gave you a fright. I'm laughing because I'm relieved that it was one of Phlox's creatures that made you scream, not something much more sinister."
Hoshi still eyed him suspiciously and he spread his hands in a defeated gesture, "I mean it, sweetheart, of all the images running through my head when I heard you scream this," he gestured to the thing on the wall, "was not one of them."
He watched her slowly relent, "I suppose I can forgive you then," she told him, a small smile tugging at her lips as she walked towards him.
"Thank you darlin'," he told her, stooping to give her a peck on the lips.
"But you still have to get rid of that thing," she informed him sweetly as she slipped passed him.
Trip let out a long suffering sigh as he regarded the creature on the wall, "I'm going to fuse all of Phlox's containers together," he muttered to himself.
He heard Hoshi's quiet trill of laughter from the other room and smiled in spite of himself, "Anything to be your hero, sweetheart," he called out to her.
Her only response was to giggle.
