"Hello child," said a voice behind me. The weakling Pigeotto I was hunting fluttered away as I growled in disappointment at the lost meal. I turned to face the one who had spoken. She was a human who was probably old enough to be my great grandmother. "I have a request," she started, "would you follow my grandson around and keep him out of trouble. He insists on going to be a trainer, and will be leaving in a month, but I will worry about him. I know you are strong enough for I see the deities in your blood young one."
"So you admit you are old, wrinkled one?" I spoke, my voice, as always, brimming with the darkness of my power.
"I am old and not strong enough to go on for much longer in this life, and full of worry for my grandchild. Will you promise me this?" she asked with hope glinting in her eyes.
I knew my parents would be angry if I did not return soon, but they would never forgive me for not helping this one who was old and about to pass on while worried and never satisfied for the rest of her life. *sigh* "I will promise you this, but I will NEVER become his slave. I will follow him, and keep him safe but I will not be chained to him for the rest of mine or his life."
"I never expected you to do such an abominable thing, and I thank you." She got up and silently walked away. I continued hunting.
I dropped the Ratatta in front of my father. He nodded his head and started to prepare it for roasting, him being the only one with hands to prepare with. No he was not human, but his parents were an Umbreon and the almighty deity Mewtwo, while my mother's parents were also an Umbreon and the deity Darkrai. I had a powerful heritage, but I was no purebred Pokémon and that was my one flaw, the reason for my great power and the reason I was an outcast. "Come here Kourrianna." Called my mother. I instantly obeyed knowing her harsh tendencies for punishment. "I felt an elderly presence in the forest today, who was it and what was wanted of you?" she spoke as soon as I sat before her.
"It was an elderly grandmother. She asked me to watch her son as he travels around playing instruments. I did not refuse her of this wish," I answered.
"That was good of you Kourri, when is this to take place?"
"In a month's time mother"
"Alright, now go and eat, you must be hungry." I nodded my head and walked towards the mouthwatering scent of roast Ratatta.
