Sanji struck a match against his boot, and brought it up to his face. "My little mermaid! You shouldn't stay out in the rain too much. Won't you catch cold?!" He said, oozing with concern. "Ah, Sanji, don't worry. I'll be fine. Thank you, though." The young lady on deck smiled as drops of water pitter-pattered against her face. She made puddle angels in the much appreciated rain falling from the sky. Sanji smiled and exhaled smoke, cradling the cigarette in his fingers.
Before Sanji could say anything, he was interrupted. "NOOOO! The guiding light is out!" The captain panicked. "Relax, Luffy. That happens sometimes. Trust me, its okay." Nami calmed things down as Luffy sighed happily. "You sure are smart, Nami!" He exclaimed from his seat on the Going Merry. The navigator smiled, and looked down at her map. "No way..." She said to her self, her gaze looking up from her papers.
The crew gathered in the kitchen for an important notice brought on by the navigator. "If we want to go to the Grand Line...we have to go up a mountain." It seemed that everyone's jaw dropped. "A MOUNTAIN?!" Usopp repeated for emphasis as if he didn't understand. "Apparently so," Nami started off as she unrolled the map onto the table. "I didn't believe it either; but the lighthouse was leading us here. Her slim fingertip rested on Reverse Mountain.
"I don't get it. We have to go through a mountain? That's a lot of repairs." Tara pondered aloud. "Or, we can take the canal that cuts through it. " The finger traced out a canal. "A-what? Don't be crazy. We can't go up a mountain in our ship." Usopp stated clearly. "Nami is always right when it comes to maps." Sanji reassured the marksman. However, Zolo's words sliced right through them. "That's Buggy's map. How do we know that's 100 trustworthy?"
"We get to go over the mountain in a ship? Yahoo! A mystery mountain..." Zolo sighed at Luffy's silly enthusiasm. "Do we have to use that entrance? How about sailing south and going in from anywhere?" Luffy took pride in his opinion and voiced it loudly. "NO WAY!!" Nami supported the reasoning. "He's right, we sure cant. And here's why."
"It would be improper." Yellow tang said flatly. "Um...not quite." Nami replied blankly. "Hee hee, I gave it a shot...Hey, the rain is gone." The mermaid sighed sadly. She had no idea when the much appreciated rain would come back; and the weather in the Grand Line was told to be unpredictable. "What the..." Nami moved over to take a look outside of the window for herself. "We're supposed to ride the sort to the canal! It's supposed to be raining..."
"Unless..." A look of dread spread across her face. "We're in the calm belt…" She looked at the crew's uninformed faces. "Okay, the Grand Line is sandwiched between two seas. One of them is the Calm Belt. There aren't any winds here because…" Nami couldn't finish what she was saying, due to a massive quake. "What's going on? There's an earthquake!!" Luffy yelled. Suddenly, the ship was perched on the head of a giant sea monster! "Oh…my god!" Tara cried out as she saw how high up they were. "This is where…giant sea monsters live." Before any of them knew it, the marksman was falling off the Going Merry. Luffy stretched his arm out as far as he could to save his friend's life in a pinch; and before the crew knew it they were back in the storm again.
"So…I guess we're going to take the mountain…" Tara said in a facetious tone, as she was sprawled out on the deck yet again.
