Sarah Williams, age seventeen, was reading a NASA Rover report. Which was odd, since the report hadn't been released to the press or anything, but her uncle had told her about the report, and since it wasn't classified information, had agreed to lend her a copy. He put it in a folder, and it wasn't as thick as she'd expected. After skimming the first four entries, which were about the Rover's flight over, she got to the interesting part. The more intriguing entries read as followed:

Mars Rover 00142 'Moirai' Time: 0400

Seems to have landed in some sort of narrow valley. Can't get up the sides. Just continuing down the path till it ends.

Mars Rover 00142 'Moirai' Time: 1142

Still in the narrow valley. It doesn't look like it's going to end so far. Haven't seen any turns or openings or anything. Have taken some tests of its structure. Seems to be a sort of bricks. Perhaps there are or have been life here? No signs of water, but there seems to be some sort of moss...Continuing to the end of this valley.

Mars Rover 00142 'Moirai' Time: 1503

Still continuing. One opening found, showed fork in path. Took right in said path. Audio picked up odd, low-pitched noise. Sounded like... giggling? Perhaps a glitch in the audio device, possibly caused by rough landing.

Mars Rover 00142 'Moirai' Time: 2247

Still continuing... More turns have been seen, more unusual noises recorded. Motion sensed, when camera found source, it was merely falling rocks. Rover battery running low... Need to get Rover to docking station.

At last, the final entry in the folder-

Mars Rover 00142 'Moirai' Time: 0639

Final data report sent from Rover. Audio picked up a high pitched squeaking that, when played back, sounds like muffled cursing and the word 'aardvark'. Video showed nothing new about the valley: still endless passageways and confusing twists and turns. We named the valley 'Labyrinth Glen' after the maze in Greek mythology.

A/N:: Yeah, yeah, another Mars fic. Much of this is from Sky Girl Butterfly, this one merely expanded the text she sent me- really, its mostly hers, it should be on her account... Review please, and I'm so sorry, Sky Girl Butterfly, that I couldn't write your idea nearly as well as it should have been written!
