Sorry it's not much, just a quick little piece. I'll try and get something a bit more substantial up in the next few days! - SGA

"It's beautiful…." The twelve-year-old murmured breathlessly.

The sunset was really unlike anything that she had seen before. Thanks to their spot high up in the massive sycamore, not only could they watch the clouds bathe in a sea of orange and purple, but they could watch all happen over an absolutely spectacular vista.

"Wow." Her brother leaned up with his back against the trunk, nearly speechless. Their perch afforded them a near-picturesque view of the small Oregon town. "Just…it's something, huh?"

"Uh-huh!" Mabel nodded furiously in agreement. The inspiring sight had already helped her cook up at least two new sweater patterns and counting. "Everything's all…it's all just so bright and glowy right now! Dipper, look!"

Brilliant rays washed over Gravity Falls, giving everything they touched a magnificent golden shine.

"Yeah, and you can really see just about everything from up here." He remarked. "Look, there's Main Street, right there, and the water tower…hey, you can even see the Shack, too-"

Immediately the heavy branch began to rock a little as his twin bounced like an excited monkey.

"Where? Where is it?" she demanded, fervently scanning the view below. "I see downtown, I see the bus station, I see the lumber yard…Dipper, I can't see it!"

"Okay, okay, just hold on!" Dipper smiled as he guided her gaze. "Okay, first look to your left…now, see the road there? Now keeping following it to your right…keep going…keep going…and you should see the sign, just about-"

"THERE IT IS!" The girl burst out snorting with gleeful peals of laughter, and started to wave furiously to their distant summer home. "Hi, Shack! Hi! We see you! Hi, Grunkle Stan! Hey, Soos! Hello, Waddles! Mabel sees you!"

Finished with her enthusiastic shower of greetings from above, she turned to her brother and chirped optimistically, "So any idea how we're gonna get down yet?"

Dipper's smile quickly flipped into a worried frown. He had been so caught up in the view, he had forgotten their somewhat pressing situation. "Uh…I'm still working on it, actually…"

His brow furrowed as he looked below their lofty roost, where two bicycles hung tangled in one of the lower boughs. While Dipper tried to hatch a workable plan, Mabel was calm as could be as she kicked her feet and piped up curiously. "Could you tell me again what those weird furry guys were?"

"Hold on…" Dipper dug the old journal from his pocket, and flipped about until he found the appropriate entry. "Uh…here we go. 'Ogre-rines. Half ogre, half wolverine."

"Weird." Mabel murmured as she started to idly toy with her bike helmet.

"Well, not really...at least not for around here." The boy climbed down a few feet. After getting a good grip on the trunk, he started to gently bounce up and down on the massive branch.

While he tried to shake their bikes loose, Mabel remarked distractedly, "You'd think with a name like that, they'd be a whole lot slower."

"Forget about their speed." Dipper shook his head in disbelief. "I still can't get over how far they can throw…"
