These so-called fishing trips were never very interesting for Heidi. Eyes followed her throughout the streets of Volterra already, so all she had to do was throw in a few words to the strays, and she could easily rope twenty people in before the Volturi's lunch hour.
Usually Heidi would talk to the people who wouldn't be missed; the singles who had no family, or the couples that weren't dragging around their children. People wouldn't miss them for a while; the ones whose friends would guess that they were taking an extended vacation.
Heidi had completed this routine hundreds of times, and each instance was dreadfully monotonous. She always considered humans easy to read, so she always tried to avoid the men, or sometimes woman, who would flirt with her like they were hormonal teens. But occasionally, even Heidi herself needed the reassurances of the pitiful males that contaminated Volterra.
Heidi didn't even understand the obtuseness of the humans that resided in this city. Anywhere else in the world, the warm-blooded would still admire Heidi, but would at least have enough instinct to keep themselves at a distance. But here, it was the opposite. People attracted themselves to the many Volturi guard like flies. Maybe it was because Volterra was supposed to be the safest place in the world; Heidi didn't really know, but she didn't have to.
All that was important was that she would feed today, no matter how boring her duty to her family was.
A/N: Okay, this is my first fanfic for this account. Its just a short drabble about Heidi, who I think is the most interesting person of the Volturi. You'll be hearing more from her if anyone likes this. Reviewslove. I wrote this for a RPG application, so that's why its so short.
Thanks! and PLEASE tell me if you think I should write more Heidi!
