A note to all emos: I love ya! I'm just borrowing some idiosyncrasies for Oro-chan. I don't own Naruto or Evanescence's song Drowning. This fiction seeks to explain why Orochimaru chose Sound as his own Hidden Village.
A teenage Orochimaru arrived home from training. Dressed all in black, he went directly to his favorite dark corner where his sketchbook/journal and Evanescence cd were waiting. He pushed play on his cd player and began to cry. 'Nobody understands me. I suck at being a shinobi. Omg, would Jiraiya and Tsunade even care if I took my life tonight?'
Orochimaru pulled out a kunai and held it at his wrist. "Music...is my life", he wrote. I'm going under! Drowning in you! I'm falling forever, got to break throooough, he sang along.
Rocking back and forth, he cried bitterly. Throughout the legendary snake Sannin's childhood and adolescence, music had been his closest companion and constant comfort. Orochimaru loved music more than anything else, except maybe snakes and his prettiful hair/manicure. He spent all of his money on new audio entertainment.
So, one day when he up and decided to start his own Hidden Village (Uhmm... I meant spa), the logical symbol was a musical note. And thus, Otagakure was born.
And, when poor Kabuto asked "Why sound"...
Pocky to my reviewers!
