I just wanted to start by saying thank you if you're reading this. Its been 6 years since I last posted on FanFiction and I'm so very happy to be back. Hopefully you enjoy this, it is something I have always adored writing about. Beast Boy x Raven will always be my favorite. Thanks for letting me come home guys, I've missed it oh so much.

To New Beginnings

Chapter One: The Year Started So Normal

Raven sat atop her bed, pouring over a book almost frantically. She was sucked into the story and so close to the ending so there was no stopping now. Somewhere outside her room there was loading thumping and what sounded like a trumpet? No saxophone. Definitely saxophone. But all the noise was easily blocked out. Her heart raced as the climax of the story reached its peak.

As Amius took Isabella's hand in his, blood pouring down his face from the gash on his forehead, he looked longingly into her eyes. He coughed heavily, turning his head, causing blood to gleam upon his lips in the dim light.

"My love, before I die, I must tell you th-"

THUMP. THUMP. THUMP.

"Hey Raven!"

Raven sighed heavily and looked up. Anger rose easily, a common emotion.

"What?!"

"Whatcha doin?" Cyborgs voice floated through her closed door. Did he have to yell so much?

"Reading. Go away." She sighed heavily and looked down at the inky pages.

"My love, before I die, I must tell you that you are the light of my life. I only wanted to give you the world. Not a war. Never this."

His hand slowly and shakil reached for his pocket and he pulled out a b...

THUMP THUMP THUMP!

"Hey Raven!"

Her boom slammed shut and her door slid open at almost the same instant. She stood in the doorway glaring down at who dare interrupt her a second time, a black cloud floating around her as if the death in her eyes was not enough. Beast Boy stared up at her, a grin upon his face and slight fear in his eyes.

"Wanna play musical dodgeball with us?"

If looks could kill, Raven thought the entire team would be dead by now. She glanced down the hallway and saw Cyborg with a guitar and a bright red dodge ball. Where was the saxophone? What the hell was musical dodge ball? She turned back to Beast Boy and rolled her eyes.

"No. Go away." She turned to go back to her lovely book and Beast Boys whine pierced the air.

"But Ravvvennnnn...puh-lease! Its totally the best game ever."

"I said no. I'm reading. About romance that you will never understand."

Beast Boy wrinkled his nose at that and was about to say something else when the ball went whizzing past his ear and a guitar rift followed.

"Dude! Not fair!"

Raven closed her door and smiled slightly, turning back to her book. Living in Titan Tower wasn't so bad.
