Loki regretted the day of the bet with Heimdall. Of course, they'd been more than tipsy at the time, and assuming Loki and Thor could win the chess match, even with Thor's help, had been foolish, especially given their intoxicated state, and the fact that their opponent was a, well, chess champion, but then, Heimdall hadn't been exactly sober as well. Loki didn't even remember what Loki and Thor's terms of the bet had been exactly, something along the lines of Heimdall running around the campus naked. Now that would have been worth it, to see their friend run around starkers.

On the other hand, it wasn't worth the cost. Loki had to ask Thor to be her strapping young gentleman, yes, those were the exact words, at a dance hosted by Heimdall's Chess Team. Of course it had to be hosted by them, wouldn't it. Heimdall's friends on the chess team weren't exactly the type of people Thor and Loki got along with. The chess players were rather sadistic, and tended to think they were cleverer than everyone else. Of course, they were usually right, but that didn't make it any less unpleasant dealing with them.

Loki checked that her dress was zipped up, before finding Thor. Loki was grateful that today wasn't one of their his days, since it would have been less pleasant handling the dress and heels, along with the hair and the whistles, the catcalls would have been much harder to deal with. Besides, Thor, well, Thor, having lived with Loki, was well aware of all this, even if Loki wasn't exactly out of the closet to everyone else, but small graces turned to larger ones. Of course, Thor checked that Loki was alright, and she wasn't dealing with anything like that, and Loki was glad not to worry their friend. She was stunning. If she was going to do this damned thing, she'd do it well. She straightened out Thor's suit, and grimaced, it was… rather bright. They walked arm in arm to the dance. The chess team had rather successfully assembled a crowd, and seeing the bar, Loki figured it was the good booze that had drawn the group. She wasn't exactly tempted to drink, given that drinking was what had gotten her into this into the first place.

Heimdall wasn't doing things by halves either, he introduced the pair as guests of honor who would have the first dance. Thor bowed. "Fair one, may I have this dance?" A few in the crowd tittered, and then Thor and Loki broke out with the music into a perfectly executed tango. They had the satisfaction of not missing a step, and Loki supposed that they really had got one on Heimdall after all. And that she didn't mind being in Thor's arms one bit, did she? And of course, they then celebrated with wine, and tried not to make any more unwise bets with chess players.
