"He's crying again," James whined as he was holding the three day old baby named Harry.

"Craddle him lightly and try to get him to sleep!" Lily called from the kitchen.

James was in the living room, where floral print wallpaper covered the walls, and they had a pink shag carpet. The house they were resided at was about ten years old, and had two bedroom. Dressed up as a stereotypical seventies home. It was reasonably small, but perfect for them. Lily had fallen in love with it as soon as she took a step inside. He attempted to cradle Harry, but he failed horribly. James' long arms around such a small infant felt… awkward, but in a way, natural. Lily heard Harry's cries getting louder, so with a sigh she left the kitchen, sat beside James, and took Harry, cradling him lightly and began to hum 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'. James watched his wife and son in awe. Lily caught his expression and quirked an eyebrow.

"James?" Questioned the young red headed mother.

James had zoned out, so with a flinch he looked at her with confusion.

"Yes, Lils?" James asked in a somewhat cautious voice. It had been nine months of hormonal pregnant Lily, so he grew cautious on what and what not to say, and even though she wasn't pregnant anymore, it was something that he couldn't just snap out of instantly.

"Why are you looking at us like that?" Lily asked, obviously referring to Harry and herself.

James looked at her with a thoughtful expression etched on his face.

"Because this is what I've always wanted. A beautiful family." Responded James softly.

"I thought it was to become a famous Quidditch player?"

"I thought it was," Admitted James. "but it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong. But seeing you with Harry, it makes me forget about the war for a couple moments, y'know? To feel no worries… Like a bliss feeling."

Lily smiled sheepishly, then looked down upon her child who was fast asleep.

"Would you like to hold your son, daddy?" Teased Lily.

James smiled lightly, nodded, and took Harry in his arms. It truly was the best feeling in the world.
