Harold was born somewhere in the 1200's. A time of knights and castles.

The "First One" in his title could be attributed to being the first person to carry the Wayne surname, but it was actually given to him for a darker reason. After all, "Wayne" wasn't even a surname to begin with.

It wasn't all bad in the beginning, though. Harold was born in an english noble family: The Edgells.

With his mother's blue eyes and his father's blond hair, Harold was a sight to behold. Little angel, his mother called him while she kissed him in the forehead. Perfect son, his father said as he laughed. Both of them took any chance they had to brag about him with their acquaintances.

Harold grew to love the attention.

If there was someone that Harold loved more than himself, that would be his little brother: Lorin Edgell. That little kid who couldn't fight with a sword even if his life depended on it.

Harold loved to bring Lorin to play with his new toys. Loved to teach him how to fight. Especially since Lorin always lost.

Harold loved to win.

When he was fourteen, Harold's parents told him that, when the time came, he would be marrying a girl called Avelina Provost. Harold didn't know when "the time" was supposed to come, but he hoped it wouldn't be coming anytime soon.

Maybe if he ignored the girl she would go away...

For the next two years, his parents started putting more responsabilities on his shoulders. Long gone were the days when he could wander around the castle without a worry in the world. Now Harold dedicated every second to study and train. Especially after his father's death. The few moments he got to see his brother always brightened his day.

Lorin insisted that he should give the Provost girl a chance. That she was as smart as she was beautiful.

Harold told him he would think about it.

When the opportunity came to get away from the Edgell Estate, Harold took it without thinking twice. He even got Lorin to join him in the Crusades. All this talk about justice and glory was really appealing.

Harold and Lorin fought together against anything that came against them. Just the two of them against the world.

Those were the days.

Harold even discovered that Lorin liked to read poetry. Who knew? Did Lorin always have that little scar under his eye?

After being away for so long, the Edgell brothers finally returned to their homeland, only to find that their old mother had died a few months back.

There will be time to mourn later, Harold told himself, for now we should be focusing on our welcoming feast.

During the toast, Harold announced his marriage to the Provost girl as a way to honor his father's last wish. He even gave a special, sentimental speech he wrote himself.

It was a shame that Lorin decided not to attend.

Harold had caught the king's eye during his performance in the Crusades and wanted to assign him as lord of his own land in Northern England.

This called for another feast. A feast to the future Lord Waynemoor.

After a few cups of beer, Harold decided to stay away from the feast for a while. The gardens were always his favorite spot in the castle.

He decided to take a nap under his favorite tree, not knowing that he would never wake up.

And so, his story ended. The story of Harold Wayne: The first murder.
