A/N: This is an OC'sreport-he's not our Naruto. He's the Naruto several generations down the is in class number 758 at the academy. It is 398 years after the final war. Tsunade died about 30 years after the war ended. Kakashi 60. Iruka 70. Naruto died about 100 years after the war ended. He's been dead about a three hundred and two years, give or take. So he did some digging for this report. Went to the graveyard. The memorial stone. Read old at old 's how he found Iruka, who has largely been forgotten(his name isn't even mentioned in most textbooks), and with more digging into old records found out that Umino Iruka taught and shaped a generation of legends. You can be the driving force for the people who cured Cancer,AIDS,HIV, and so forth. You could shape someone into something everyone adores. You're not going to be remembered four generations later.

The difference between a hero and a legend

Hero's are fleeting things. They are forgotten in time. A man can save another's life and be forgotten the next day. Human memory has a shorter lifetime than humans themselves. They have no strong biologic memory.

Sometimes, when a Hero does something big enough he'll be remembered by those who come after him.

It's when someone ordinary does something remarkable- something extraordinary, that they become a Legend.

Legends live longer in the minds of men than Hero's. A Hero's tail dies with the hero.

Take the tale of Umino Iruka. He was a hero. He saved the life of Uzumaki Naruto. He shaped the lives of an entire generation of legends, Including Uzumaki Naruto and Uchiha Sasuke. Within three generations of his passing, he was just another name on a stone.

Compare it to Namikaze Minato, someone who was entirely unremarkable. No one expected him to do anything important. No one expected him to catch Uzumaki Kushina's, Kohona's jinchuriki, eye.

No one expected him to become an S-ranked ninja before he reached age thirty. No one expected him to have a student make Jounin years before his peers.

No one expected him to become the Hokage. Not at first.

No one expected him to die fighting the Kyuubi and sealing it into his newborn son.

Just like no one had expected his son, orphaned at birth and reviled for his burden, to become a ninja. No one expected him to learn an A ranked justu in hours. No one expected him to master the summoning justu in a month. No one expected him to drive of the Ichibi. No one expected him to learn the Rasengan. No one expected him to bring Senju Tsunade back to the one expected him to perfect the Rasengan. To master sage mode. To befriend the Kyuubi. No one expected him to win.

Not until he did.

Hero's are mortal. Legends can span generations, empires, and kingdoms, wars and religions.

Hero's might be mortal. Legends, though, are immortal.
