This is my entry for Merthur Partry 2013, Day 1 Prompt.

I want to dedicated this poem (first ever Merthurian Sonnet) to my lovely king ofkingsandlionhearts!

The Prince and The Servant

Most of servants know their places
Even if it hurts and pains them
Royals always put on faces
There's no fondness, no regrets then
Here's the strangeness, here's the difference
Under severe circumstances
Royal boy cuts down on distance

Prince and Servant - hostile glances
Arthur's pride is deeply rooted
Rigid rules govern his stances
Tending Merlinis unsuited
Yet their future's full of chances

There are moments in their routine
Even others see those clearly
Arthur quits being obscene
Merlin cares for him sincerely

Brattish, burly, bold and brave prince
Lazy, lousy, loyal servant
Utterly bound ever since
Even if you're not observant
