The situation seemed hopeless. F.E.A.R. was coming for us, for the Wild Ones, and the Prophet was no where to be seen. I grasped my necklace tightly in my hand, holding onto that part of myself. F.E.A.R. could remove me from the Wild Ones, but they could not remove me from the Wild Ones. my heart belongs to the rebellion, not with F.E.A.R.'s promise to so-called freedom and justice. I will not let F.E.A.R. consume me, brainwash me into believe their twisted ideals. I won't stand by and let them hurt my family and my friends, the Wild Ones. I was brave, especially considering my young age. I was still a child. I have no official name, but the Prophet deemed me Flame, so that's my name now.
Ever since we broke from F.E.A.R.'s grasp, they have followed us, finding and defeating us one at a time. Everyone mourned each time the Prophet carried a body back into camp. Each time, though, each of us was happy, because it wasn't us being carried by the Prophet. All of us dreaded death, because it meant one less rebel, one less bit of hope for the imprisoned people inside F.E.A.R.'s city, but we all still worked through the worry and dread. We prepared to raid F.E.A.R.'s city. We would invade, divide, then conquer. Tomorrow is that day.
The Prophet knelt in front of me, his hands on my shoulders, looking into my eyes. He hugged me tightly to his chest, knowing that we might not live to see each other after facing F.E.A.R. in their city. He said to me, "F.E.A.R. won't steal what burns in you, Flame." I nodded, unable to speak, for lack of words to say. He pulled away from the hug, "We need to hurry, Flame, if we want to be at F.E.A.R.'s city on time. We leave at dawn." I nodded, scurrying off to get ready. I put on my mask, tied back my hair, and grasped my necklace tightly once more, giving it a practice swing. The Deviant helped me put warpaint on, everyone was preparing for battle, and the Destroyer lined everyone up in their ranks. We started to march into the dawn across the wasteland we call home. We made it to F.E.A.R.'s city, but F.E.A.R. was there waiting for us. The ranks paused, and I ran ahead, swinging my necklace and showing my resistance to F.E.A.R.'s rule over us. One of the many F.E.A.R. soldiers took my necklace as I threw it, and the Destroy punched the ground with all of his strength, and F.E.A.R.'s soldiers vanished. We raided their city, freeing their prisoners. We won.
