Disclaimer: Dragon Ball GT belongs to a bunch of really wealthy people, not me, and I make no money from this whatsoever.

A/N: I couldn't really believe it when I heard that they just let Goku go at the end of GT. I mean, can you imagine Chi-Chi giving him up without a fight?

Chi-Chi sat on a cliff, watching the sunset of another day.

It was another day without him.

She was failing fast; even before he had left her, age was setting in. Her bones seemed to creak a little more every day. Gray and white streaked her once jet black hair. Lines, of smiles and worry, marked her face, and while she had aged gracefully, she had aged nonetheless.

"Hello, Gohan," she said, without turning around.

There was the definite sound of a thump, as he dropped to the grass.

"How did you know I was there?" Gohan asked, coming around to look at her face.

Chi-Chi grinned at him, peering over the rim of her glasses. "Mother's intuition. When my own mother was alive, she had this uncanny knack for knowing where I was, and when I was going to get into trouble. I have a little of that."

Gohan smiled back, and noticed again how frail she seemed. The fire that had been able to terrify even the most powerful warriors in the universe had gone out, leaving behind a cold shell.

"I have seen Videl use something like that, whenever Pan was about to break something."

They sat together, as the sun's lowest edge dipped into the horizon.

"Was I a good mother?" Chi-Chi asked suddenly.

"You were the best," Gohan answered, and then recanted when she gave him a glare. "A little overbearing at times, but you did the best."

"I was, wasn't I?" she sighed. Tears filled her eyes. "I wanted to be the best mother I could. I never had one; mine died when I was so young. I wanted you to learn, and have all that didn't. I'm sorry."

Gohan was getting worried at the mood she was in. It seemed a little too…introspective.

"Are you okay?" he asked, concerned.

Chi-Chi looked into the eyes of her eldest. He didn't look any older than when he had married Videl. One of the things that had terrified her when she was younger was the idea of seeing her children grow up and die, somehow. Now, she was grateful for their father's blood. They would stay young for long after she was gone.

"I will be fine. Its getting late, and Videl will want you home for supper, soon."

Gohan sighed in relief. If she was worried about supper, then everything had to be all right.

"Okay. Bye, Mom!" he called as he flew off.

"I love you, Gohan," she said softly, and went back to watching the sunset.

The sun was halfway down.

"Oh, Goku, how many times have you left me waiting for you?"

A gentle breeze blew up from the rock below her.

"Didn't you love me? Couldn't you have taken me with you?"

Her only answer was birdcalls.

It was time for her to go home, she decided, and got to her feet.

After walking about five feet, she turned and looked at the sun again.

"I always waited for you."

She walked back towards the cliff.

"But now, I'm going to find you."

Taking a few running steps she jumped.

Oh, Goku, you always catch me when I fall, will you be there to catch me again?

The sun had fallen below the horizon.
