The sky cried when she left. The big, black tears seemed to mock him. Laughing at his luck. The rows covered in black mourned along with the sky, but his grief was beyond tears. The sky cried when Victoire left, but he didn't cry along with it.
But when a small, soft hand slipped gingerly into his larger calloused one, he finally broke down, sinking into the small, sweet smelling petite body that was Rose. His rose.
Three years passed, and the hole in his heart was filled, his rose and him. He had a beautiful wife and was about to have a daughter, life was good again. His eyes that had turned to dark pits, returned to their gold depths, and his hair returned to their signature turquoise, Rose's favorite. He no longer looked twice his age.
But that was the thing about Lady Luck; she was a treacherous. The sky cried again when Rose left. Now I had no one, my daughter died a day after she was born and my wife died giving birth to my daughter. No one left. But I was never one to give up easily. So that day when he went and jumped into the river behind the burrow after shooting a victorious smile at the sky, and joined his love, the sky, for once, did not cry ,but stared on in stunned silence.
