Author's Note: Well...this idea probably won't be that great, but bear with me. This idea is in the style of the books and Netflix series. Also this takes place after Austere Academy. So...I don't own Ed, Edd & Eddy or A Series of Unfortunate Events. They belong to their respective owners, Cartoon Network, and Daniel Handler. Enjoy!
Chapter One: Good Beginnings Are Rare
If you were to look at the life of the Baudelaire orphans...you'd see their lives are full of misery and despair. Their tale had begun a while ago when their parents had perished in a terrible fire. They were sent to live with Count Olaf, who tried to steal the children's fortune, not once...but 5 times. From the children's stay with the dreadful villain, to their stay at Prufrock Prep.
Mr. Poe, a banker in charge of the Baudelaire's affairs-a word which here means, "a person in charge of their future and who took them from guardian to guardian,"-coughed loudly while driving them to a new town called Peach Creek. "Well this town looks much more lovely than the brochure...don't you think children?" he asked looking in the rearview mirror.
Violet Baudelaire, the eldest, had her hair tied up in a ribbon. When she did that, she was thinking of an invention. "Mr. Poe, where are we exactly? And who are we staying with?" she asked politely. Mr. Poe would have answered, but coughed loudly.
Klaus Baudelaire, the middle child, and a reader of books, decided to ask, "What are they like?"
Mr. Poe was about to answer but then sighed and said, "First, we must discuss some rules." He sighed again and explained, "Ever since you left Count Olaf's house, there had been nothing but trouble...guardian after guardian. And you seem to think Count Olaf follows you everywhere."
Sunny Baudelaire, the youngest, and a biter, was about to say, "Gack!"a word which here means, "He is everywhere!" Mr. Poe however, decided to continue as if Sunny had never spoken in the first place.
"Now, your guardian, who's name escapes me. Promised to take good care of you. From what I know he works all day and night, but his son, Eddward, can lay down the law of the land," Mr. Poe explained, using the phrase, "law of the land," which basically means one thing...Rules.
Rules are a good thing especially if you were wanting to avoid getting into trouble. Sadly, the children will break 1 major rule during the course of this story...one that I can't say now. As the children continued listening to Mr. Poe, they saw a cul-de-sac.
"Ah, here we are," Mr. Poe said before coughing once more. "You're new home." He went to knock on the door and almost immediately a young man wearing a ski hat opened it.
"Why hello," the young man said. "My name is Eddward but you can call me, Double D."
ZZZ
Count Olaf growled impatiently as his acting troupe finally arrived. "There you are," Count Olaf growled. "Have you any idea how hard it is to hide two brats in this town?" One of Count Olaf's henchmen, a person of unknown gender tilted their head and said, "Uh...maybe it's very difficult? I mean, we have been trying to find this new tunnel for quite some time."
Count Olaf sighed, "Yes...very difficult." He looked up at the ceiling at the V.F.D. trapdoor wondering where it lead and despite wanting to open it shivered as if he were cold. The name on the side may have been unknown to Olaf, but it was known very much to three certain people in the town. The name was, "Kanker." He walked away from it as if it were a harbinger of doom. But little did he know...he'd go up that trapdoor eventually.
