Rosie sniffed the air, rain was coming. As if to confirm her fears, thunder rolled in the distance. She heaved herself to her paws and felt her kits squirming inside of her huge belly.

"I know, I know." She soothed. "I'm trying to find us a home." Rosie was trying to get to a barn she had heard of that always had food. She wasn't exactly sure where it was, but she knew she had to get there before her kits were born. A new scent filled the air, one of frustration. It was a cat, so Rosie tried to look pitiful so the stranger wouldn't hurt her. A long-haired black and white she-cat sauntered up to Rosie and sniffed her warily. "Who are you?" She asked, trying to sound intimidating. Rosie looked into the cat's yellow eyes and replied softly, trying to act scared. This cat was obviously nice.

"Alice is my name." The older cat sat down in front of Rosie. "I'm sorry, but you can't stay here. My owners don't even know I can get out."

Rosie nodded. "I understand, I just wish I had somewhere to stay for tonight."

Alice looked over Rosie again and dipped her head. "Okay, follow ."

Rosie bounded after her savior and followed her out of the bushes she'd been staying in. they walked through some dense undergrowth until they were out in the open. Alice kept walking, but Rosie stayed hidden.

"It's okay." Alice flicked her tail. "Nothing bad is going to happen."

The black she-cat stepped out of her hiding place and she and Alice walked beside each other for a little bit until Alice stopped. They were at a bridge made of hard, black, mesh-like stuff.

"Once we cross this, we're basically there." Alice explained. As soon as she set paw on the bridge, Rosie made a mental not never to cross it again. The harsh metal smell irritated her nose and the mesh bottom hurt her paws. They crossed it quickly and Alice sat down on hard ground. Rosie joined her around and looked questioningly around.

"I need to tell you the rule if you want to stay here." Alice began. "I live in that white building up there." She pointed up a small hill with some stairs built into it. "The blue building beside it belongs to my owners. The one rule is to not let them notice you."

They walked on the rock-covered ground and got to the hill. Alice jumped up the steps and led Rosie to some small bushes. She disappeared all of a sudden and Rosie sniffed around. The scent led to a small hole, so she squeezed through it and followed a tunnel up into the hut they'd just been looking at.

"This is my home." Alice waved her tail, showing the screened in area. Rosie walked around, looking at everything. There were chairs and tables set along the side and a big box made of styrofoam for clawing at. A smaller box was in a corner and Rosie assumed that was where Alice slept. Alice padded over to the styrofoam and ran her claws through it. "It's really nice, you can use it whenever you want."

Rosie began to walk towards her, but the kits stopped her.

"You'd better get to bed." Alice fretted. "Your kits are due any day now."

Rosie blinked gratefully and curled up in Alice's box, falling asleep as soon as her head hit the pet bed.

Hey! This is a new story I thought of when I went to my grandpa's house. His cat is Alice and we went to my uncle's farm and there was a black cat with some kittens and I named her Rosie. I decided to make up a story about how she got there. I hope this goes well!
