It had all started very suddenly when Jack finally expressed his feelings for Will in a most… untraditional manner. Mind you, he had been drunk at the time, but as everyone close to Jack knew, the drink didn't affect his mind, only his inhibitions.

"Have I ever given you a reason," Jack whispered, leaning closer, "not to trust me?"

Will shook his head, sensing the slight tinge of rum on the captain's breath.

"Then follow my lead, and try not to do anything stupid." And instead of whirling around to do battle with the undead pirates in the cave behind them... Jack quickly closed the short distance between himself and the blacksmith, engulfing him in a bittersweet kiss.

Will snapped to his senses, the adrenaline now pumping through his system due to an entirely different situation than before. He struggled against the embrace, but quickly succumbed to the captain's alluring touch. He could feel the rough beard against his skin, and every contact brought a splash of sensation coursing through Will's skin.

Hands exploring new territory... tongues sailing uncharted waters...

Will pulled away to gasp in air, and in the same breath blurted out, "What do you think you're d-" But Jack clapped a hand over his mouth.

"You want them to hear us and kill us, don't you?" He whispered, "I knew it. Besides, don't pretend like you weren't enjoying it, luv." He removed his hand from Will's mouth.
Will immediately started whispering furiously about his protestations, but was again silenced by Jack, smothering him in another kiss. Will again melted, as though by magic.

This time it was Jack who broke the embrace.

"Come away with me, luv. We'll make all our fantasies come true."

Will shook his head. "But what about Elizabeth?"

"Forget the gerl, mate, we've got the Pearl, we've got our freedom. We've got each other. Come away with me, and I'll make sure you never regret it."

Jack only looked back once more before grinning and taking the hand of the enticing pirate before him.

"The drink didn't affect his mind, only his inhibitions…"

Will ran this over in his mind, thinking of all the crazy things Jack had done while drunk, and comparing them to that first night, that first kiss...

Jack had kidnapped the governor's daughter, stolen a cursed ship, and single-handedly taken on an army of undead pirates. And each time, the drink in his system had thrown caution to the wind. But on that first night, even still, he had hesitated… only slightly. Only enough that the blacksmith whose lips were inches away from his own would notice. But then the drink came rushing to the rescue, obviously bringing to light what had been buried deep within the confines of the captain's soul. It had a knack for doing that, which is why Captain Jack Sparrow so often traveled under its influence.

Will, on the other hand, had kept his reserve… or at least tried to; but when Jack's rum-hinted tongue was begging entrance, Will had to relent. He was never one to refuse the captain's will.

And in that way, that first night quickly turned to many.

Will had never been happier.
