HEART OF ICE
by Sailor Twilight
These are the last words of the most powerful warrrior in the Dark Kingdom, I, the
head general, Lord Kunzite.
We have failed.
We have failed from the beginning.
Heh. If only we had known sooner, then maybe we wouldn't have wasted our time.
Or our lives- for this hopeless cause.
It's funny how confident we were at first. Then it was different- it was Beryl who
turned on us, first crystallizing Jadeite into his eternal sleep; then sending Zoisite to kill Nefrite;
and finally killing my dear, precious Zoisite.
Zoisite.
He was the only light in my life, the only light in the Dark Kingdom. He was more than
my lover- he was my pupil, my inspiration, and most importantly, my friend. There was so
much I wanted to tell him, to experience with him, but I never had the chance.
Until now. Even in these last milliseconds, I feel closer to him now more than
ever, and I can see him waiting for me in a bright light, surrounded by his beautiful, pink
flower petals.
I do not feel the pain of my own two sabres impaling my chest and piercing my heart.
It's strange, but I feel... happy. Relieved. Finally at peace.
As my own blood soaks through my cape, I can finally feel my heart of ice melting
away. I'm coming, Zoisite.
I'm coming.
And I love you, more than ever.
