Taunting
Summary: When Nikolas finds a new love interest, will a past woman come between them.
Note: This story takes place the day of the Black and White Ball.
The Four Musketeers became the Three Amigos with the loss of Emily Quartermaine. Elizabeth Webber and Lucky Spencer were grieve stricken when they saw Emily lying on the floor of Wyndemere Castle. Emily was strangled by a person who goes by the name of the Text Message Killer (TMK). Elizabeth cried into Lucky's shoulder as he tried to comfort her. As people started to come back into the castle, Nikolas came into the room. The minute he saw Emily on the ground with the rope around her neck, he fell into the arms of the closest person who happened to be his brother Lucky. Lucky and Elizabeth said some comforting words to Nikolas and then Elizabeth walked Nikolas over to a chair. She was making sure that he didn't go into shock.
Elizabeth noticed that Jason was rushing toward the crowd. Elizabeth told Nikolas to stay put and then she ran up to Jason. Jason asked what the crowd was doing and Elizabeth pulled him into an empty room. She sat him down and gently told him that his little sister was strangled. Jason couldn't believe it. The only two Quartermaines who actually loved him were gone. First his grandmother Lila and now his little sister Emily. Jason looked around the room and Elizabeth told him that it's okay if he cried. Jason looked at her and started to cry. He then asked if he could see Emily's body and Elizabeth helped him up and walked him out of the room. He managed to get through the crowd to see Emily's body. Once he saw it, he left. Elizabeth, with Robin, walked back over to Nikolas who was still sitting in the chair. Elizabeth thought Nikolas wasn't in shock, but she needed a consult.
Once Robin checked Nikolas, she left. Nikolas kept saying that he couldn't stay here, Elizabeth told him that she would stay here with him. She told Lucky to clear everyone out of the castle and they were going to stay here with Nikolas so that she could keep an eye on him. Lucky told her that he had to relieve the babysitter and the boys would be asleep, so he was going to stay with the boys at the house. Elizabeth said that she could go with him, but Lucky insisted that Elizabeth take care of his brother.
Lucky was one of the last ones to leave the castle. Elizabeth walked Nikolas into his room and he told her to lie down next to him. Elizabeth walked to the other side of the bed and lied down. Elizabeth fell asleep immediately, but Nikolas had a hard time falling asleep. He looked up and whispered "I love you Emily. I always will." He felt as if a load had been lifted and he finally managed to fall asleep.
A few minutes later, Elizabeth was awoken by Nikolas' scream. Nikolas had a nightmare about Emily's death. When Elizabeth tried to comfort him, he kissed her. At first Elizabeth pulled away, but she liked the kiss too much to stay away. So she leaned in to kiss him. Things were going perfectly until Elizabeth looked at Nikolas and saw Lucky. Once that happened, she backed away from Nikolas. Nikolas started to freak out because he remembered Emily. Elizabeth asked what she could do and Nikolas told her that the only thing to get his mind off of Emily was her kissing him. For the sake of Nikolas' sanity, Elizabeth agreed to kiss Nikolas.
This time, Nikolas was the one to pull away from the kiss when he saw Emily standing there. She kept saying "How could you betray me Nikolas? How could you?" Nikolas was so freaked out that he told Elizabeth to go back to her boys and Lucky and never mention a word of this. Once Elizabeth left, Nikolas looked at Emily and she smiled, said "Thank you" and then she disappeared.
