For What It's Worth… by HPFangirl71
The crowd filtered out of the courtroom yet she sat there, motionless. She never expected him, of all people to walk over to her.
"For what it's worth… I'm really sorry things turned out this way."
She looked up into his green eyes and suddenly unbidden tears began to fall. Just as suddenly, she found herself being comforted within the arms of Harry Potter. By the time she shed her last tear for father's imprisonment, she and Harry were on the way to a burgeoning friendship

"It's been weeks since the war. You'd think they'd be sick of writing about it."
Harry was frustrated at being recognized in every wizarding shop and street corner in the world. Pansy offered a cup of tea and listened patiently to him lament his lack of privacy.
"For what it's worth… you can always come here to hide out."
He smiled and took her hand, grateful for a place to escape the craziness of his reality.

"How could they shun me like that? It's not my fault father committed war crimes. I've changed after all… haven't I Harry?"
She turned to him for his support and approval.
"Of course you have Pans, anyone who doesn't see that is a complete fool."
Silently, Harry planned to talk to the shop in the morning. They would surely change their minds at his request. For what it was worth… Pansy had made great strides to change. She deserved to be treated better than these bigots would allow.

"How could she do this to me?" he cried on her shoulder.
Ginny Weasley had left him for a famous Quidditch player and of course, Pansy was there to pick up the pieces.
"For what it's worth… I always hated that girl weasel." he gave a halfhearted chuckle at her lame joke and she held him as he cried out his pain.

"Draco is a fool to choose her over you Pans"
Harry was trying to reassure his dear friend. She'd just found out her former fiancé was marrying another. Malfoy's engagement to Astoria Greengrass had shocked the entire wizarding world.
"Its okay Harry, I was just trying to figure out why Astoria would marry such a pompous jerk like Draco." she smiled at her own joke "Actually for what it's worth… I'm in love with someone else."
"Really… And why is your best friend the last to know this?" Harry questioned.
"Why? …Because its you silly" she whispered shyly.
"For what it's worth Pansy… I love you too." he whispered back.
As their lips met in a heartfelt kiss, they both knew it had definitely been worth it all…
