Trojan Horse
A/N: Another one-shot for you!
There was a couple of things Percy Jackson could forgive, but being a liar wasn't one of them. His fatal flaw was personal loyalty, and the people that lied and betrayed him, he considered it the ultimate deception. If you couldn't be straight with him, that was the end.
Luke had promised he would never hurt him.
Truth was Luke had hurt him more than the son of Poseidon would care to admit. Physically, he had hardly harmed him albeit the time he sicced a pit scorpion on him (thought that was the time after the promise he had made). Emotionally, Luke hurt him bad.
When he was young and naïve, he had believed that love was the most pure and beautiful thing in the universe. How wrong he was, Love wasn't the smell of roses, it wasn't rainbow in the cloudless azure sky, it wasn't the radiance of the dancing lights that danced upon the surface of a shimmering lake. Love was untamed and bitter, a black parasite that ate at you from inside outwards until there was nothing left but a broken shell of the past. Love was a sycophant that clawed and tore your heart into pieces, making you forget about everyone and everything in the world expect for the never-ending excruciating pain. Love was was when you wanted to cry, but when no amount of tears would release you. Love was when you couldn't think, couldn't eat, couldn't move. Love pushed you upon the brink of death, but never sent you over, allowing the pain to end.
'I'll never hurt you Percy.' he had said to him, before embracing his lover, for what could've been their last time.
Despite being on opposite sides of the brewing Titan War, Percy and Luke had many trysts within the four years it lasted.
Percy had really thought that they were in love, but Luke had to spoil it all by making Percy allow him sacrifice his mortal life to save Western Civilisation.
Renounce the traitor, save Olympus.
'Percy..' his broken, pained voice called out. 'Do you. .. . love me?' he stammered out, full blue eyes searching into tearful, loving sea-green eyes.
'I'll always love you.' he smiled, tears streaking down his face and cradling Luke.
'Remember. . . what I said, live your life as if you never met me. .' he trailed off as the life left his broken body.
He looked at the boy in his arms, how could he ever move on?
The first love is the true love.
